A .RESOLUTION AND ORDER ESTabLISHING VOTING
PRECINCTS, APPOINTING PREC~CT ELECTION OFFICERS
AND ESTABLISHING FEES T~E&~0R, AND DESIGNATING
POLLING PLACES FOR THE SPECIAL ELECTION IN THE
FIFTH WARD TO FILL A VA0~CY ON '~HE COUNCIL, TO
BE HELD ON THE 24th DAY OF SEPTEMjBER, 19%7.
BE IT RESOLVED by the Council-of the City of Bakersfield,
as follows:
1. That for the purpose of holding the special election
in the Fifth Ward to fill a vacancy· on the Council, on the 24th day
of September, 1957, the following voting precincts are hereby
established, election officers appointed, and polling places desig-'
nated:
WAR~ N0~ 5
Consolidated voting Precinct No. 1, shall consist cf Precincts ~7 and 56.
The polling place shall be at Mrs. Pa~a E. Farrell's residence, 1312
Eye Street.

2. That the compensation for said election officers is
hereby fixed as follows: Inspectors, $18.00 each; Judge and Clerks,
$15.00 each, and the rental for the use of each polling place is hereby
fixed at $15.00.
3. That The Bakersfield 'Californian, a daily newspaper
of general circulation is hereby designated for the publication of
all notices to be given by the City Clerk pertaining to this election.
I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was passed
and adopted by the Council of the City of Bakersfield at a regular
meeting thereof held on the 19th day of August, 1957~ by the following
vote:
