HomeMy WebLinkAboutRES NO 27-57 Pd~SOLUTION NO. 27=57' RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAKERSFIELD, ORDERING THE VACATION 8F POR- TIONS OF LAKEVIEW AVENUE, FORMERLY KNOWN · AS COTTONWOOD ROAD, SOUTHERLY FROM CALI- FORNIA AVENUE, ~ TKE CITY OF BAEERSFIELD= WHEREAS, t~n the 6th day of May', 1957, the..Council of the City of Bakersfield, pursuant to the provisions 6f the "street Vacation Act of~ 1941," being Division 9, Part 3, ~0f-the Streets and Highways Code' .of the State of California, 'passed and adopted .its Resolution of Intention No. 731~, declaring its intention te order the vacation of portions of Lakeview Avenue, .formerly known as~ Cottonwood road, southerly from' California AvenUe, in the City of Bakersfield, California, .and WHEREAS, said Council did fix a time and place for hearing'all persons interested in or objecting ~to said proposed vacation, which said hearing was held on the 27th day of May, 1957, after notices were duly posted as required by' laW, and WHEREAS, this Council-after duly considering the matte~, does here- by find and resolve as follows: I. That those portions of Lake view Avenue, formerly known as Cotton- wood Road, seutherly from California Avenue~in the City Of BakePofield, State of California, more particularly described in Parcels 'At and B spectively, are unnecessary~ for present or .prospective public street p~LP- pose $: PARCEL A All of the following described parcel of land situated in said Section 32; beginning at the Southeast corne~ of Lot 1, as said Lot 1 is shown on map of Tract No. 1301, . recorded in Book 5 of Maps, at Page 1A~l, May 28, 1946~. in the office of the County ]~ecorder of said Kern County;, thence N. 89° 45' E., along the easterly-Prolongation of the southerly line' of said Lot 1, a distance of 10.00 feet to a point of intersection; thence N. 0o 06, 30" E ' along I distance of 130.00 fee't~ to intersect the . e aste fly. prolonga- tion .of the northerly line of said Lot I; thence' S.89o 45' W. along last named easterly prolongation, a distance of 30-13 feet, to the westerly end of a, tangent curve, and~ as said 0 ':I ~REBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was passed and adopted by the Council' of the C!ty of Bakersfield, at a regul-a~ meet- ing thereof, held on the 27th.day of May, 1957, by the following vote: ,. That said portions of Lakeview Avenue, formerly known as Cotton-' wood Road, southerly from California 'Avenue be and the same are hereby' closed up, vacated and abandoned fo~ public street purposes, subject to and in conformity with the reservations and exceptions contained' in and con- ternplated by said Resolution of Intention No. 731, Reference to said Resolution of Intention is hereby made for further 'particulars. 3. The City Clerk shall certify.to the passage .of this Resolution and shall cause a certified copy hereof, attested by the Clerk under the seal of the City, to be recorded in the Office of the Co~mty-Recorder the County of Kern, California.
