WHEREkS, a petition was filed ~,,ith the Co~,;noil .of the Oit~r cf
Bakersfield' on the 4th day of Ms~-ch, 1957 requesting that certain
uninhabited.territory therein described ba s~rnexed tc ~nd incorporatod
within the City of Bakersfield, and "
.WHEREAS, said petitionwas signed 'by the 0vmers Cf not lass
then one-fourth (1/4th) of'the area of the land in suchterrltozy,
and representing not less than one-fou~th(1/4~) of the assessed
value of such territory according to the Last preceding equalized
assessment roll of the County of Kern.
NOW,. THEREFORE, in ccmpliance· ,,~.'ith the provisions of the ,~,nc;-;a-
tion of Uninhabited Territory Act of 1939, Chapter 297 as amended
