RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF BAKERSFIELD, CALIFORNIA~ DETERMINING
THAT THE PUBLIC INTEREST AND NECESSITY
DEMAND THE ACQUISITION AND CONSTRUCTION
OF A CERTAIN MUNICIPAL IMPROVEENT AND
MAKING FINDINGS RELATING THERETO.
The Council of the City of Bakersfield, California,
DOES HEREBY RESOLVE AND DETERMINE as follows:
Section 1. That the public interest and neces-
sity demand the acquisition and construction by the City of
Bakersfield of a certain municipal improvement, to wit:
a municipal bus system for said city, including the acquisition
and improvement of certain buses, fare boxes, service equip-
ment and vehicles, office equipment, and other appurtenant
property presently owned by the Bakersfield Transit Co.~...~
the acquisition of additional buses, fare boxes, service
equipment, automobiles, shop tools, radio equipment, office
equipment and other property necessary for said system, and the
acquisition of land and the construction thereon of offices,
shops, fuel station, fuel tanks, and other buildings and
structures necessary for the operation of said system°
Section 2. That said municipal improvement is
necessary and convenient to carry out the objects, purposes
and powers of the City of Bakersfield.
Section 3. That the proposed acquisition and
construction of said municipal improvement as aforesaid
constitutes a plan for the acquisition, construction and
establishment of a public utility~ that such public utility
is deemed best for the interests of the people~ and that
this Council has caused to be ascertained and made an estimate
of the cost at which such public utility can be acquired
and constructed, which estimate is stated in Section 4 hereof°
Section 4. That the estimated cost of said
municipal improvement is the sum of $395,000. That said
municipal improvement requires an expenditure greater than
the amount allowed for it by the annual tax levy. That bonds of
the City of Bakersfield in the principal sum of $395,000 are
proposed to be issued to pay the cost of said municipal improve-
ment.

duly adopted by the Council of said city by a vote of more than
two-thirds of the members thereof and was approved by the
Mayor of said city at a regular meeting of said Council held on
the 28th day of January ~ 1957, and that it was adopted
by the following vote, to wit:
