~,~LEREAS, the City of Bakersfield is desirous of purchasing
a parcel of land in said City to be used for off-street parking
purposes, which said property represents a portion o~ the estate of
Bessie R. Andrews, deceased, Which estate is'being probated in the
County of Kern, State of California, and
V~EREAS, the Administrator of said. estate is desirous of
selling said parcel of land.
NOW, TP~2{EFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the CouPsell of the City of
Bakersfield, as follows:
1. Tb.e City Manager is hereby authorized to offer a sum not
to exceed. $27,500.00 for the purchase of the' following described prop'
erty:
Lots 8, 9 and 10 in Block 164, in the City
of Bakersfield,.County-of Kern, State of
California, as per map recorded November 25,
1898, in Book l, pages 13 and l~ of Maps,
in the effice~ of the Cot~ty .Recorder of said
County;
and the City Auditor is authorized to ~sue a check~ made payable to
the Administrator.of sa~d estate, in ~n amount'equal to ten percent
(10%) of the price So be offered, to wit: a sum not to exceed ~2,750.00,
to accompany said offer, pending. approval of said sale by the Superior
Court.
2. Upon approval of the sale of said property by said Court
and the submission of an abstract of title showing said property to be
free and clear of~l encumbrances, aped Upon agreement of the Abstract
Company to issue a policy of title insurance to the City of Bakersfield,
the City Auditor is authorized to issue a check made payable to the
Adininis'~rator of said estate for 'the b~lance of said purchase price.
i HEREBY CERTIFY that the. forsgoing Resolution was passed
and adopted by the Council of the City of Bakersfield at a regular
meeting thereof held on the 22nd day of 0ctobSr, 19~6, by ths follo~ing
vote:
