RESOLUTION OF PROPOSED ~E]C~TION OF UNIN-
HABITED TERRITORY AND SETTL~G TIME FOR HEARIN~:?~
THEREON.
WHEREAS, a petition was filed with the Council of the City of
Bakersfield on the 21st day of August, 1956, .requesting that certain
inc e
uninhabited territory therein described be annexed to and . ~rpo~.~'~ d
within the City of Bakersfield, and
WHEREAS, said petition was signed by the ovmers of not less
than one-fourth (1/~) of the area of the land in such territory, and
representing not less than one-fourth ~1/~) of the assessed value of
such territory according to the last preceding equalized assessment
roll of the County of Kern.
NOW, THEREFORE, in compliance with the provisions of the Annexa-
tion of Uninhabited Territory Act of 1939, Chapter 297, as amended,
BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Bakersfield as follows:
That the boundaries of the territory so proposed to be a~aexsd
to the City of Bakersfield are described as-follows:
That certain parcel of land situate in Section 20, Township 29
South, Range' 28 East, M. D. B. & Mo, bein~ a portion of Alta Vis+~a
No. 2, more particularly described as follows:
Beginning at a point on the corporate boundary of the City of
Bakersfield, County of Kern, State of California, as said corporate.
boundary is defined in Ordinance ~o. 690, New Series, as adopted
by the Council of the City of Bakersfield, October 15, 1945, and
certified November 15, 1945, by the Secretary of.State, State of
California, said point of beginning being the intersection of the
westerly line of Section 20, Townsship 29 South, R~nge 28 East,
M. D. B. and M., and the westerly prolongation of the northerly
line of Lot 22, Block 9, as said Lct 22 is sho~m on map of "Alta
Vista No. 2", filed for record April 9, 1926, in Book 3 of Maps,
at pages 158 andl59, in the office of the County Recorder of Kern
County; thence easterly along said corporate boundary as defined
by said Ordinance No. 690, New Series, and along said westerly
prolongation of the northerly line of Lot 22, and along the northerly
line_of said. Lot 22 to intersect the westerly line of an alley 25
feet in width, as said alley is 'Shown on's~id map of "Alta Vista
No, 2"; thence northerly and as defined in said Ordinance No. 690,
New Series, and as defined in Ordinance No. 796, New Series, adonted
September 7, 19~8, by said Council, ~nd certified October 7, 194B,
by said Secretary of State, on and along the westerly line of said
alley and the northerly prolongation thereof to intersect the
northerly line of 'Exception 2"as sai~ northerly'line is defined.

been accomplished by sn!election, hsld March 20, 1923, the result
of which was filed March 28,1923, with said Secretary of State,
the last named northerly line being on or near the northerly line
of Pacific Street as 8aid Pacific Street is shown on said map o~
"Altar ViSta No. 2"; 'thence westerly along said northerly line of
"Exce tion 2",and along the~corporate boundary as defined by
said ~Exce~tion 2" to intersect the westerly line of said Section
20, the last named westerlyline also being the~cente~ line of
Union Avenue as said center line is sho~m on said map of ~Alta
Vista No~ 2"; thence southerly along the corporate boundary ss
defined by said "Exception 2", and along said westerly line of
Section 20.to the point of beginning, containing 0.9569 acres
more or less.
That a designation appropriately naming such territory is
UNION AVE., NO. 1.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that Monday, the 1st day of October,
1956, at the hou~ of eight o~clock P.M., in the Council~Cha~mbsrs of
the City Hall, l~01 TruxtunAvenue, BakerSfield, California, is the time
when and the place where any person o~rning real property ~i*~hin such
territory so proposed to be annexed ~d having any. objections to the ..
proposed arm~exation may appear before the Council of the City of
Bakersfield and show cause .why such ter'~itory should not be annexed.
I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was passed and
adopted by the Council of the City of Bakersfield at a regular meotiD~
thereof held on the 27th day of August~ 1956, by the following vote:
