WHEREAS, a petition was filed with the Cou~cil of the City of Bakersfield on the 3rd day of August, 1956, requesting that certain uninhabited territory therein described be annexed to and included within the incorporated limits of the City of Bakersfield, and WHEREAS, said petition was signed by the owners of not less than one-fourth (1/4) of the area of the land in such territory, and representing not less than one-fourth (!/4~ of the assessed value such territory according to the last preceding equalized assessment roll of the County of Kern. NOW, THEREFORE, in compliance ~-~ith the provisions of the ~mexa- tion of Uninhabited Territory Act of 1939, Chapter 297, as sinended, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Bakers field as follows: That the boundaries of the territory so proposed to be &nnexed to the City of Bakersfield are described as follows: That certain parcel of land situated in Kern County, California, being a portion of Lot 5,'Section 6, To~mship 30 South, Range 28 East, M. D. B. & M., as said Lot 5 is sho~m on '~Kern Co,inty Sales Map No. i of Lands of J. B. Haggin"'filed for record in the office of the County Recorder of said Kern Co~u~ty, May 3, 1889, and more particularly described as follows: Beginning at the Southeast corner of Lot 36, which last said corner is a point on the corporate bomndary of the City of Bakersfield, as said corporate boundary is defined by 0rdi- nance No. 864, New Series, adopted February'27, 1950, and filed March 30, 1950, with the Secretary of State, State of California, and as said Lot 36 is sho~m on map of Tract No. 1061, recorded April 28, 1938, in the office of said Comuty Recorder, in Book 4 of Maps, at pages ll2 and ll3~ thence northerly along the easterly bo,indary line of said Lot 36, and along the corporate boundary of said City of Bakersfield, known as ',Dobrusky Square c , annexed by Special Elec- tion, held October ll, 1949, and approved by Ordinance No. ~850, New Series adopted~0ctobs~i7,-,1949~and~i~ed ~ovembe~ 29, 1949, with said Secretary of State, to the Northeast comu~er of said Lot 36; thence easterly, parallel with the southerly boundary line of aforesaid Lot 5, and along the corporate boundary of the City of Bakersfield, as last said corporate boundary is defined by Ordinance No. 942, New Series, adopted April l~!, 1952, and filed May 16,1952, with said Secretary of State, to intersect the easterly boundary line o~ the westerly one-half of said Lot 5, at a point 140 fsst northerly, as measured along last named easterly boundary line from the Southeast corner of the said westerly one-half of Lot 5; thence northerly along said easterly boundary line of the westerly one-half of Lot 5, and along said corporate boundary as defined by said Ordinance No. 942, New Series, to intersect the easterly prolongation of the center line of that east and west alley of 20 feet in width, as Said alley is shown on map of said Tract No. 1061; thence continuing northerly along said easterly boundary line of the westerly one-half of Lot ~, and departing from the corporate boundary of the City of Bakersfield, to a point distant, 160 feet southerly, as measured along said easterly boundary line of the westerly one-half of Lot 5, from the northerly boundary line of said Lot 5; thence easterly, parallel ~ith last named northerly boundary line, to intersect the easterly boundary line, of the westerly 160 feet, of the easterly 330 feet of said Lot 5; thence southerly along last nmmed easterly boundary line to intersect a line parallel with, distant 30 feet northerly, as measured perpendicular to the southerly boundary line Of said Lot 5, and to a point on. the corporate boundary of the City of Bakersfield; thence westerly along last named parallel line, and along the corporate boundary of the City of Bakers- field, as said corporate boundary is defined by said Ordinance No. 864, New Series, to the sforesaid Southeast corner of Lot 36, in said Tract No. 1061, and to the point of beginnings. containing 1.8076 acres of l~nd more or less. That a designation appropriately identifying such territory is SNYDE ACRES N0.2. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that Monday, the 10th day of September, 1956, at the ho,ir of eigh~ o,clock P.M., in the Council Chambers of the City Hall, 1501 TruxtunAvenue, Bakersi'ield, California, is the time when and the place where any person o~ming real property within such territory so proposed to be armexed ~nd having any objections to the proposed annexation may appear before the Council of the City of Bakersfield and show cause why such territory should not be annexed. ...... 000 I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoirE~Resolution was passed and adopted by the Council of the City of Bakersfield at a regul~ mesting thereof held on the 6th day of August, 1956, by the following vote: AYES: CARNAKIS, COLLINS, CROES, DOOLtN, EVELETH, SCHWEiTZER, SULLW~-' NOES.' ~~ - ,_ City C~erk and Ex-Of£icio Clerk of the Co~cil of the City of B~kersfield.
