THE PUBLIC UTILITES C0~o~ISEION TO TRANS-
FER OPERATION OF B~ESPIEi~D TRANSIT COM-
PANY TO THE CITY 0F B~SFi'~.
WHERK&S, by Ordinance No. 1092, New Series, passed by the Council
of the City of Bakersfield, the City of Bakersfield was authorized to
and did enter into a Lease and Option Agreement, being No. 49-56,
with the Bakersfield Transit Company for the leasing and operation of
the transit system for a period of eight months commencing August l,
1956, and
WHEREAS, the Bakersfield Transit Company intends to ~ile an
application with the Public Utilities Co._mission of the State of
California, requesting a transfer of its operations to the City of
Bakersfield for the duration o~ said lease, and this Council is
desirous of Joining with said BaksDsfield T~ansit Company in making
such application.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of
Bakersfield, that the City of Bakersfield join in the application of
the Bakersfield Transit Company to the Public Utilities Commission
requesting transfer of the operations of said Company to the City of
Bakersfield; that a request for an ex p~rte order for such t~ansfer
is hereby approved; and the Mayor of the City of~ Bakersfield is
hereby authorized to execute said application on behalf of the City.
I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution ~-~as passed and
adopted by the Council of the City o~ Bakersfield at a regular meeting
thereo~ held on the 30th day of July, 1956, by the following vote:
