RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING ~iAYOR TO EXECUTE
AGREEMENT FOR SLLE OF A CERTAIN WATER
MAIN IN MT. VERNON AV.~u~XrE TO THE CALI-
FORNIA WATER SERVICE COMPANY.
WHEREAS, the City of Bakersfield is desirous of selling
a certain water main, including all pipe, valves and gates, o~,med
by it, lying and being in Mt. Vernon Avenue in the City of Bakers-
field, to the California Water Service Company, and
The California Water Service Company is desirous of pur-
chasing said water main, pipe, valves and gates at an agreed
valuation of $2.00 per lineal foot, and other promises and considera-
tions on the part of said California t~!ater Service Company.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City
of Bakersfield, as follows:
That the Mayor of the City of Bakersfield is hereby authorized
and directed to execute that certain agreement between the City of
Bakersfield and the California Water Service Company dated April 30,
1956, and entitled "Bill of Sale and Agreement", wherein said City.
agrees to sell and grant to said Mater Company, and said Water
Company agrees to purchase from City, that certain water main,
including all pipe, valves and gates appurte~ant thereto, situate,
lying and being in that certain street kno~m as Mt. Vernon Avenue,
for payment to City by said Water Company of the agreed value of
$2.00 per lineal foot and other promises to be kept and considera-
tions to be fulltiled on the part of said Water Company.

I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was' passed
and adopted by the Council of the City of Bakersfield at a regular
meeting thereof held on the 30th day of April~ 1956, by the follow'
ing vote:
