WEEAS, on August 25, 1953, a Petition for Public.' Work and
Improvement was filed with the Council of the City of Bakersfield re-
questing the construction of curbs and gutters along the north and
south side of a proposed 36 foot road~;ay including curb and gutter
returns at the intersection of Bank Street with L Street and N Streets
and
WEEAS, on August 31, 1953, the Council of the City of Bakers-
field passed Resolution No. Z~3-~3 ~,Jherein said petition was found to be
sufficient, and on said date said Council passed Resolution No. h~-53,
requiring the City Engineer to furnish the City Council ~ith plans and
specifications, together with careful estimates of the costs and ex-
penses of such work, and
WHEREAS, difficulty has arisen in locating certain o~ners of
property along the street of said proposed improvement for the purpose
of securing right of way deeds for the widening of said street, and
WHEREAS, there has been such a~ great lapse of time between the
filing of said petition and the securing of said right of way deeds,
that this Council believes that the proceedings heretofore coFslenced
and. known as Public Improvement District No. 704 should be abandonod =nnd
that new proceedings should be commenced for said improvement.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by-the Council of the City of
Bakersfield, as follows:
That the proceedings for the construction of curbs and gutters
along the north and south side of a proposed 36 foot road~ay including
curb and gutter returns at the intersection of Bank Street with L Street
and N Street., under Public Improvement District No. 70~, be and the
same are hereby abandoned.
I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was passed
and adopted by the Coucil of the City of Bakersfield at a regular
meeting thereof held on the 23rd day of April, 19~6, by the folloz-~-
ing vote:
