RESOLUTION OF THE' COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF BAPcERSFIELD, ORDERING THE VAC~TION
OF C STREET BETWE~ 16TH ST2EETAND TRUX~
TUN AVENUE AND A PORTION OF THE ALLEY IN
BLOCK 412-A, IN THE CITY OF BAKERSFIELD.
'WHEREAS, on the 20th day of February, 1956, the Council
of the City of Bakersfield, pursuant to the provisions of the "Street
Vacation Act of 19~l" being Division 9 of the Streets and High~;ays
Code of the State of California, passed and adopted its Resolution
of Intention No. 720, declaring its intention to order the vacation
of C Street between 16th Street and Truxtuu Avenue and a portion of
the alley in Block 412-A, in the City of Bakersfield, California., and
WHEREAS, said Council did fix a time and place for
hearing all persons interested in oP objecting to said proposed vaca-
tion, which said hearing was held~on the 12th day of March, 1956,
after notices were duly posted as required by law, ~yhich said matter
was duly continued to March 19, 1956, for decision, and
~WHEREAS, due consideration'having been given by this
Council to the evidence presented, and protests of the opponents
having been withdrawn contingent upon'the showing that a twenty-
four foot street is being opened and dedicated to public' use east-
erly of and parallel with said C Street.
NOW, THEREFORE, the Council of theeCity of Bakersfield
does hereby find and resolve as fo!lc~s: //
1. That the following described portion of C Street
between 16th Street and Truxtun Avenue and a portion of the Alley
in Block 412-A, are unnecessary for present oP prospective public
street purposes:
All of that certain part of C Street of 82.5 feet in
width lying between the northerly right of ~sy line of
16th Street and the southerly right of way line of Trux-
tunAvenue, formerly Railroad Avsnue~ also the westerly
107 feet of that certain 20-foot alley ruDming easterly
and westerly through Block 412-~, as said C Street, 16th
Street and TruxtunAvenue formerly Railroad Avenue and
Block 412-A are shown and delineated on that certain map
entitled "Map of the City of Baks~sfleld, Kern County,
California" recorded November 25, 1898, in Map Book l,
at pages 13 and l~, Official Records of Kern County, Cali-~
fornia.
2. That said portionsof C Street and said alley be
and the same are hereby closed up, vacated and abandoned for public
street purposes, subject to and in conformity with said Resolution
of Intention No. 720. Reference to. said Resolution of Intention is
hereby made for further particulars.
3. The City Clerk shall certify to the passage of this
Resolution, and shall cause a certified copy of this Resolution,
attested by the Clerk under the seal of the City, to be recorded
in the o~fice of the County Recorder of the County of. Kern, Cslifornia.

i HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resoluticn was
passed and adopted by the Council of the City of Bakersfield at a
regular meeting thereof held on the 26th day of M,-arch, 1956, by the
