WHEREAS, ~n the 19th day of March, 1956, the City of
Bakersfield entered into an agreement with The Atchison, Topeka And
Santa Fe Railway Company, providing for the installation and main-
tenance of flashing light sig~ats at the H Street crossing and at
the Elst and Gage Street crossing of the Atchison, Topeka and
Santa Fe Railway Company tracks, In said City, and
WHEREAS, under Statutes of 1953, Chapter 1739, City is
permitted to apply to the Public Utilities Commission for a refund
of one-half of the costs paid by City Ifor the improvement above-
mentioned,. from the Crossing Protection Pund.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City
of Bakersfield, as follows:
1. That the Council of the City of Bakersfield hereby
authorizes the filing of a request for allocation of funds from the
Crossing Protection Fund, with the Public Utilities Commission.
2. That the Mayor of the City of Bakersfield is hereby
authorized to sign said request for allocation of funds.
I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was passed
and adopted by the Council of the City of Bakersfield at a regular
meeting thereof held on the 19th day of March, 1956, by the follow-
ing vote:
