WHEREAS, the Council of the City of Bakersfield ~having here-
tofore set March lh, 19%6, as the time for hearing objections to
the election in the matter of the annexation of the Greater
Bakersfield Me6roplitan Area, and said time for hearing pro-
tests to said election for annexation was duly continued to this
.WHEREAS, it appears that protests were not made by owners of
one-half of the value of the territory proposed to be annexed, as
shown by the last equalized ~assessment roll, and that no protest
was made by public and private owners equal to one-half of the
value of '~he territory.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT R.~;SOLVED by the Council of the City of
Bakersfield, and said Council finds and declares as follows:
1. That there are insufficient protests to terminate further
proceedings in the Annexation of the Greater 2!l. akersfield Metro-
politan Area, for the reasons hsreinabovs sat forth.
2. That supplemental protests may be filed within 10 days
from and after this date, all pursuant to section 3~120 of the
Government Code of the State of Californiaj

I HEREBy CE~T]'FY that the foregoing Resolution was passed
and adopted 'by the Council of the City of Bakersfield at a reg-
ular meeting thereof h~ld on the 19th day of March, 19~6, by
the following vote:
AYES: CARNAKIS, COLLINS, CROES, DOOLIN EVELETH, SCHWEITZER, SULUVAN,
NOES: ~
