RESOLUTION NO. ,28-55
RESOLUTION OF AWARD OF THE CITY COUNC IL
OF THE CITY OF BAKERSFIELD, CALIFORNIA,
AWARDING THE CONTRACT FOR THE DOING OF
THE WORK IN THE MATTER OF THE IMPROVEMENT
OF H STREET BETIiEEN THE CENTER LINE OF
GOLDEN STATE AVENUE AND THE SOUTHWESTERLY
RIGHT OF WAY LINE OF THE SOUTHERN PACIFIC
RAILROAD, IN PUBLIC IMPROVEMENT DISTRICT
NO. 715 IN SAID CITY.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Bakersfield did in
open session on the 7th day of November, 1955, publicly open,
examine and declare all sealed proposals or bids for doing the
following work in said City, to wit:
The.improvement of H Street between the center
line of Golden State Avenue and the Southwesterly
right of way line of the Southern Pacific Railroad,
said improvements to consist of the following:
The paving of the present unimproved roadway with
4 inches of plant-mixed surfacing placed on 8 inches
of imported borrow; the construction of Portland
cement concrete curb, gutter and driveways on both
sides of the said H Street; the construction of
Portland cement concrete curb, gutter and returns
at the intersection of said H Street with 32nd
. Street; and the construction of a 12 inch corru-
gated metal pipe storm drain with necessary catch
basins in the said intersection of H street and
32nd Street extending into the intersection of H
Street and Golden State Avenue; and
WHEREAS, all of said bids having been duly considered by said
City Council, and it appearing to the said City Council, and said
City Council hereby finds that the lowest regular responsible bidder
for the doing of said work is DICCO, INCORPORATED;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City
of Bakersfield, that said City Council does hereby reject all of
said proposals or bids except the next herein mentioned and does
hereby award the contract for the doing of said work and said improve-
ment to the lowest regular responsible bidder, to wit: DICCO, IN-
CORPORATED, at the prices named in said bidder's proposal or bid.
That the City Clerk of the City of Bakersfield is hereby directed
.to publish said notice twice in the "Bakersfield Californianll, a daily

newspaper of general circulation, printed, published and circulated
in said City of Bakersfield, California, hereby designated for that
purpose by the City Council of the City of Bakersfield, all in the
manner and form provided by law. Director of Public Works is
authorized to enter into this contract, for the work involved,
contingent upon the approval in writing thereof of the City Attorney.

I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing resolution was duly
passed and adopted by the City Council of the City of Bakersfield on the
14th day of November, 1955, by the following vote:
AYES: Carnakis, Croes, Doolin, Eveleth, Schweitzer, Sullivan
NOES: None
ABSENT: Collins
