A RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY 0F
BAKERSFIELD ACKNOWLEDGR~G THE RECEIPT OF A
COPY OF NOTICE 0F IMTENTIO~ TO CIRCULATE
PETITION FOR TEE AN~EXATiON OF TERRITORY
DESIGNATED AS GREATER BA~.~RSFIELD METROPOLITAN
AREA AND AN ~-FFIDAVIT 0F PUBLICATION THEREOF
AND APPROVING THE CIRCUL~TION 0P THE PETITION.
~[HEREAS, on September --L, 1955~ there was filed with the
City Clerk of the City of Bakersfield a copy of Notice of Intention
to Circulate Petition Relating to ~anexation of Certain Territory
to the City of Bakersfield under the Annexation Act of 1913 pertain-
ing to territory designated as Greater Bakersfield'Metropolitan ~ea~
together ~ith an affidavit of publicatio~ of said notice on Sep~
tember _X___ , 1955, in The Bakersfield CalifornianS'and
~F~EREAS, the Annexation Act of 1913 provides that the legis-
lative body may adopt a resolution ack~owledging receipt of th~
notice and approving the circulatio~ of the petition;
NOW, TM~FORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of
Bakersfield:
1. That the receipt of the notice and affidavit aforesaid
be and the same is hereby acknowledged, and that approval be and
is hereby given for the circulatio~ of the petition for annezation
of that certain territory designated as Greater Bakersfield Metro~
politanArea twenty-one days after the'publication of said notice~
2. The City Clerk shall certi~ to the adoption of this
resolution.

I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Rssolutio~ was passed
and adopted by the Council of the City of Bakersfield at a regular
meeting thereof held on the eth day of September, 1955, by the
following vote:
