HomeMy WebLinkAboutRES NO 63-55RESOLUTION NO. ~ 83-55 RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAKERSFIELD, CALIFORNIan, ORDERING WORK IN THE MATTER OF THE IMPROVEMENT OF AN ALLEY IN TRACT 1532 LOC~%TED BETWEEN ENCINA AND "F" STREETS AND BETWEEN 24TH AND 26TH STREETS IN PUBLIC IMPROVEMENT DISTRICT NO. 714, IN SAID CITY. The City Council of the City of Bakersfield, State of California, pursuant to the provisions of the "Improvement Act of 1911", being Division VII of the Streets and Highways Code of the State of California, does resolve as follows: That public interest and convenience require the work hereinafter described, and the said City Council of said City does hereby order the following work to be done and improvement to be made in said City, to wit: The improvement of an alley in Tract No~ 1532, located between Encina and F Streets and between 24th and 26th Streets, the improvements to con- sist of the following: The removal of the existing bituminous surface treatment and asphal- tic concrete paving and the repaving with 5 inches of plant-mixed surfacing to be placed on 4 inches of imported borrow~ the construction of a Portland cement concrete center drain and the removal and reconstruction of the existing cross gutter in R4th Streets the same being in Public-impr~v~me~District No. 714, in said City. That the City Clerk of the said City of Bakersfield is hereby directed to post a notice of said work conspicuously for five (5) days on or near the Council Chamber door of the meeting place of the said City Council, inviting sealed proposals or bids for doing the work ordered; said City Clerk is also directed to publish twice in the "Bakersfield Calif- · ,rnian", a daily newspaper .f general circulati.n, printed, published and circulated daily in the City of Bakersfield, and hereby designated by said City Council for that purpose, a notice inviting such proposals and referring to the plans and specifications on file. That all proposals or bids offered shall be accomp~niedl 1 by a ch~ck payable to the City Of Bakersfield, certified by a responsible bank, for an amount which shall not be less than ten (10) per cent of the aggregate of the proposal, or by a bond for the said amount and so payable, signed by the bidder and two sureties who shall testify before an officer competent to administer oath, in double the said amount and over and above all statutory exemptions, or by a corporate surety bond to the satisfaction and approval of the Street Superintendent of the City of Bakersfield, Cali~ornia. That said sealed proposals or bids shal~ bs delivered to the Ex-officio Clerk of said City Council, to wit, to the City Clerk of the City of Bakersfield, not later than the hour of 5:00 P.M. on the 26th day of Septsmbs~ 1955, said time being not less than ten (ld) days from the time of the first publication and posting of said notice, Said sealed proposals or bids shall :be publicly opened and readat the regular meeting of the City Council of said City at 8:00 P.M. on said date. - --o0o --- I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing resolution was duly passed and adopted by the City Council of the City of Bakersfield on the 6th day of September, 1955, by the f.llowing vote: ~S: CARNAKIS, COLLINS. ~ DOOLIN, C~1o~'~ C 1 e rk of the City Council of the City of Bakersfield, California APPROVED 'this- 6th day- of September, . 1955_.
