A RESOLUTION 0F THE,COUNCIL 0F THE CITY
OF BAKERSFIEI2) ESTABLISHING AN OFFICIAL
BODY T0 BE KNOWN~AS ~THE "BAKERSFIELD URBAN
RENEWAL COMMITTEE"':, ,
WHEREAS, the Council of the City of Baker sfi~ld is considering
a program of urban renewal, and
WHEREAS, in accordance wi~h the requirements of the Federal
Housing Act of 1954, a responsible local public agenc~ muSt'be 'c~eated to
coordinate urban renewal activities.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED .by the Council of the City of
Bakersfield that this Council he~r~by~creates an Official local agency
to be known as the "Bakersfield Urban'Renewal COmmittee". Said body.
is created for the purpose .of coordinating urban renewal activities in
the City of Bakersfield, including the ~requirements of a "Workable
Program" and a "Urban Renewal Plan" as set forth in the Federal HouSing
Act of 1954. Membership of said body shall consist of a chairman and
not more than four additional members.
Three members s'hall be:
Director of Planning, Chairman
Chief Building+ Inspector
Assistant City Manager

I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was passed and
adopted by the Council of the City Of Bakersfield, at a regul~ meeting
thereof held on the 25th day of July, 1955, by the following vote:
