UNINHABITED TERRITORY,,.,AND SETTING TIME
F0R HEARING.
WHEREAS, a petition was fiIed with the COuncil of the City
of Bakersfield on the ..~/.-day of April, 1955, requesting that certain
uninhabited territory therein described be annexed to and included
within the incorporated limits of. the. City of Bat~ersfield, and
WHEREAS, said petition was signed by the owners of not less
than one-fourth (1/4) of the area of 'the land' in such territory,
and representing not less than'one-fourth '(1/4) of the assessed
value of such territory according:: to thS last preceding equalized
asses's~ent roll of the COUnty of Kern,
NOW, THEREFORE, in complianCe .with the provisions of the Annexa-
tion of Uninhabited Territory Act' o£ 1939, Chapter 297, as amended,
BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of. Bakersfield as follows:
A portion of the southeast quarter (S.E.' 1/4) 'of Section
16, Township 29 South, Range 28 East, M. D. Bo & M., and
a portion of the Southwest quarter (S. I^~. 1/~) of Section
S
15, Township 29 outh. Range 28 East, said territory to be
designated as "College Heights No, 1," and more particularly
described as follows:
Beginning at the intersection of the corporate boundary of
the City of Bakersfield as said corporate .boundary is defined
in Ordinance No. 984, New Series, adopted August 10~ 1953,
by the. City Council of said City and-filed September 18,1953
in the office of the County. Rec~der of Kern County, California,
and the northerly boundary lines of the southeast quarter
(S. E. 1/4) of Section 16, ToWnship 29 South, Range 28 East,
M. D. B. & M.; thence easterly, departing from said corporate
boundary, on and along .said. northerly boundary'line to the
northeast (N. E.) corner of said southeast quarter (S. E. 1/4)
of Section 16; thence continuing easterly along the northerly
boundary line of the south~-~est quarter (S. I.~. 1/4) of Section
1~, To~mship 29 South, Range 28 East, to the northeast (N.

corner of said southwest quarter (S. W. 1/~) of Section
15; thence southerly along the easterly boundary line of
the last named southwest quarter (S. W. 1/~) t~ the south-
east (S. E.) corner of the north oneshalf (N. 1/2) Of said
southwest quarter (S. W. 1/4) of Section 15~ thence westerly
along the southerly boundary line ~of said north oneshalf
(N. 1/2) of the southwest quarter (S, W. 1/~) of Section
15 to the southwest (S. W.) corner thereofF thence con-
tinuing westerly along the southerly boundary line of the
north one-half (N. 1/2) of the southeast quarter (S. E. 1/4)
of said Section 16 to intersect the corporate boundary of
the City of Bakersfield, as said corporate boundary is
'defined by said Ordinance No. 984, New Series~ thence
northerly along said corporat~ boundary, on and along a
line parallel with and diEtant 55.00 feet ~vesterly, as
measured perpendicular to the easterly boundary line of
said southeast quarter (S. E. 1/~) of Section 16, to inter-
sect the northerly boundary line of said southeast quarter
(S. E. 1/~) of ~ection 16 and to the point of beginning,
containing 81-593 acres more or less.
That a designation appropriately identifying such territory
is COLLEGE HEIGHTS N0.1.
BE IT FURTER RESOLVED that. Monday, the 23rd day of May
1955, at the hour of eight o'clock Po M.~ in the Council Chambers in
the Bakersfield Police Department Building, 1620 Truxtun Avenue,
Bakersfield, California, is the time when and the place where any
person owning real property within such territory so proposed to be
annexed and having any objections to the proposed annexation may
appear before the Council of the Oity of Bakersfield and show cause
why such territory should not be ~annexed.

I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was passed and
adopted by the Council of the City of Bakersfield at a regular meeting
thereof held on the 1,2~h day of · April , 1955, by the' following
