CIRCLE. - .
WHEREAS, the Division of Highways of the Department of Public
Works of the State of California, will soon commence the work of sep-
arating grades at Chester Avenue and 99 Highway in the City of Bakers-
field, and
WHEREAS, in order-to proceed with the Work of eleva'ting 99
Highway over Garces Circle at Chester .AvenUe, it will' be necessary
t'o move the Statue of Father Garces from its present location to
a point approximately 30 feet north of the southerly curb line of
said Garces Circle. '
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of
Bakersfield, that this Council hereby approves. the relocating of
· Father Garces Statue from the center of Garces Circle. southerly to
a position on the center line of Chester Avenue .to the south and
about 30 feet north of the curb, in accordance with the print showing
the 'proposed reloca'tion of said Statue, on file in .the .office of
the City Clerk.

I HEREBY-CERTIFY that the foregoing.Resolution was passed and
adopted by the Council of the City of Bakersfield at a regular meeting
thereof held On the 18th day of April, 1955, by. the following vote=
