HomeMy WebLinkAboutRES NO 33-55 RESOLUTION NO. 33-55 RESOLUTION OF TP~ COUNCIL :OF THE CITY OF BAKERSFIELD, ORDERYNG THE VACATION OF A PORTION OF SOUTH P STREET~ tN THE CITY 0F BAKERSFIELD, CALIFORNIA° WHEREAS, on the 21st day of March, t955~ the Council of the City of Bakersfield, pursuant to.lthe provisions of the "Street Va- cation Act of 1941", being Division 9~ Part 3, of the Streets and Highways Code of the State of Cal':ifornia, passed and adopted its Resolution of Intention No. 713, declaring its intention to order the vacation Of a portion of South P Street in the N. 'W, 1/~ of the S. E. 1/4 of Section 7, Township 30 South, Range 28 East, M.D.M., in the City of Bakersfield, California, and WHEREAS, said' Council did fix a time and place ~for hearing all persons interested in or obJectin~ to said proposed vacation, ~hich said heaFing was held on the llth day of April, 1955, after notices were duly posted as required by lm*~, and WHEREAS, this Council after duly considering the matter, does hereby find and resolve as follows: 1. That the portion of South P Street in the City of Bakers- field, more particularly described as follows, is unnecessary for present or prospective public street purposes: Commencing at the Southwest corner of the Northwest quarter of the Southeast quarter of Section 7, Township 30 South, Range 28 East, Mount Diablo Meridian, as said corner is shown on Map of Tract TM No. 1738 filed for record in the office of the County Recorders County of Ee'rn, State of California, in Book 8 of Maps, at page 167, November 19, 1954; thence N. 0° 00' 25" E., along the westerly boundary line of said Northwest ~uarter of the Southeast quarter of Sec'tion 7, as said westerly boundary line is shown on said map of Tract No. 1738, a distance of 229.173 feet to the true point of beginning..~Qp_ this . ~"description; thence S. 28° 22, 23" E., along the north- easterly right of way lir~ of South Chester Avenue, a distance of 41.752 feet to. the beginning of a tangent curve concave to the northeast; thence along the northerly right of way line of Geneva Avenue, as said Geneva ~venue is shown on said map of T~act No. 1738 in a southeasterly direction, .n and along last named curve, the radius of which is 20.00 feet, th~ough a-eentral angle of 77° 45' 35" a distance of 27-143 feet to a point of cusp; thence N. 0° 00, 25" E., parallel with, and distant 43.00 feet easterly as measured pe~dendicular to said westerly boundary line of the Northwest quarter of the Southeast quarter of Section 7, a distance of 408.656 feet; thence N. 89° 59t 35" ~Y., a distance of 43.00 feet, to intersect the .said westerly boundary line of the Northwest quarter of the Southeast qus~ter of Section 7; thence S. 0° 00~ 25~ W., along the last named westerly boundary line a distance of 362o217 feet to intersect the said northeasterly right Of way line of South Chester Avenue and to the true point of beginning. 2. That said portion of SoUth P Street be and the same is hereby closed up, vacated and abandoned for public street purposes, subject to s~nd in conformity with said Resolution df rntention No. 713.
