field entered into an agreement Wit~'the.Southern Pacific Company,
providing for the installation of flashing light grade crossing
signals at Union Avenue and the Southern Pacific C6mpany tracks,
'and
WHEREAS, all of the work contemplated to be done under said
contract has been completed and ~ity's share of the cost of said
Work has been paid by. City to said' Southern Pacific Company, and
WHEREAS, under Statutes of 1953, Chapter 1739,"City' is
permitted to apply to thePublic.Utilities Commission for a refund
of one-half of the costs paid by]City for the improvement above-
mentioned, from the Crossing Protection Fund.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by '.the Council of the 'City
of Bakersfield, as follows:
That the Council of the City of Bakersfield hereby'authorizes
the filing of a request for alloCation'of funds ~rom the Crossing
ProtectiOn Fund,'with the Public Utilities Commission.
2. The Mayor of the City of Bakersfield is hereby authorized
to sign'said request for allocation of funds.
I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing:Resolution was passed and
adopted by the Council of the City of Bakersfield at a regular meet-
ing thereof held on the ~th day of April, 1955, by the following vote:
