RESOLUTION OF THE'CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF BAKERSFIELD, ..
CALIFORNIA, ORDERING .WORK. IN
THE MATTER OF THE IMPROVEMENT
OF F STREET BETWEEN 19TH
ST ET AND. 2 rH IN PUBLIC
IMPROVEMENT DISTRICT NO, ?09,. IN
SAID CITY,.
The City Council of the City of Bakersfield, State of
CaliforniA, pursuant to the provisions of the "Improvement
Act of 1911", being Division VII of the StreetS'and Highways
Code of the'State of California, does resolve as follows:
That public interest and convenience require the work
hereinafter described, and the said City Council of said
City does hereby order the following work to be done and
improvement to be made in said city, to wit:
The improvement of'F Street between the
center line of 19th Street and the center
line of 24th Street, including the follow-
ing: the widening and resurfacing of the
existing pavement between' 19th Street and
Rlst Street; the'removal of theeexisting
oiled surfacing between 21st and 24th Streets
and the widening and repaying of the roadway
with 4 inches of plant-mixed surfacing;
the removal of existing P.C.C. curb, gutter
and sidewalk and the reconstruction to
provide the additional roadway width; the
construction of additional curb, gutter and
sidewalk; the removal of existing culverts
and their replacement with larger culverts
and the construction of an additional catch
basin, Junction box and pipe connections to
the existing storm drain in 23rd S~reet,
the same being in Public Improvement District No. ?09, in
said City.
That the City Clerk of the said City of Bakersfield
is hereby directed to post a notice of said work conspicuously
for five (5) days on or near the Council Chamber door of the
meeting--place of the said City Council, inviting sealed
proposals or bids for doing the work ordered; said City Cler~k\
is also directed t6'publish twice in the "Bakersfield Cali-
fornian", a daily newspaper of general circulation, printed,
published and circulated daily in the City of Bakersfield,
and hereby designated by said City Council for that purpose,
a notice inviting such proposals and referring to the plans
and specifications on file.
That all proposals or bids offered shall be accompanied
by a check payable to the City of Bakersfield, certified by
a responsible bank, for an amount which shall not be less
than ten (lO) per cent of. the aggregate of the proposal, or
by a bond for the said amount and so payable, signed by the
bidder and two sureties who shall testify before an officer
competent to admister oath, in double the said amount and
over and above all statutory exemptions, or by a corporate
surety bond to the satisfaction and approval of the Street
Superintendent of the City of Bakersfield, California.
That said sealed proposals oF bids shall be delivered
to the Ex-officio Clerk of. said City Council, to wit, to the
City Clerk of the City of Bakersfield, not later than the
hour of 5:00 P.M. on the ~L~-daY of~~,1955, said time
being not less than ten (lO)'days from the time of th'e first
publication and posting of said notice. Said sealed proposals
or bids shall be publicly opened and read at t~e regular
meeting of the City Coundl of 'said°City at 8:00 P.M. on said
date.

I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing resolution was
duly passed and adopted by the City Council of the City of
Bakersfield on the ,~t~t~day of Mar~h, 1955, by the follow-
