WHEREAS, a petition was filed with-the-Council of the City of Bakersfield on the 14th day of February, 1955, requesting that~ certain uninhabited territory therein described be s~nnexed to and included within the incorporated' limits of the City of Bakersfield, and · WHEREAS, said petition was signed by the owners of not less than one-fourth (1~4) of the area of the land in such territory, and representing not less than one.fourth (1/~) of the assessed value of such territory according to the last preceding equalized assessment roll of the County of Kern, _ NOW, THEREFORE, in compliance with the provisions of the Annexation of Uninhabited Territory Act of 1939, Chapter 297, as mended, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Bakersfield as follows: That portion of Section 35, Township 29 South, Range 27 East, Mount Diablo Meridian, in the County of Kern, State of California, according to the official ·plat of the survey of said land on file in the Bureau of Land Management, more particularly described as follows: Commencing at the Southeast corner of said Section 35, thence South 89° 54' West, along the southerly boundary line of said Section 35 a distance of 1383.70 feet; thence North 0° 07½' West a distance of 60 feet, t0 the true point of beginning, said point of beginning, being the Northwest corner of Brund- age Lane and Real ~Road, and also a point on the corporate boundary· of the City of Bakersfield, California, as said corporate boundary is defined. by~0rdinance No. 863, New Series, adopted February 27, 1950,. and filed March 30, 1950, with the Secretary of State, State 8f California; thence along the following courses and distances as defined by a deed recorded December 16, 1952, in the office of the County Recorder, in Book 2015, Page 403, Official Records of Kern County, South 89° 54' West, a distance of 330 feet; thence North 0o 07-~~' West, a distance of 660.15· feet~ thence-North'89o 52½' East, to intersect the Westerly line of Real Road, and the. corporat~ '~'~ndary of the City 'of Bakersfield~--asI"said' corporate boundary is defined in said Ordinance No. 863, New Series, a distance of 330 feet; thence South 0o 07!~, East', along said Westerly line of Real Road, and on and along said corporate ·boundary of the City of Bakersfield, a distance .of 660.29 feet to the true point of beginning for this description, containing 5.0017 acres, more or less. 1~. That a designation appropriately identifying ·such territory is REA~ ACRES NO. 1. - BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that Monday:, the 21st day-of March 1955, at the hour of eight o'clock P.M., in the CouncilChambers in the Bakersfield Police Department Building, 1620 Truxtun Avenue, Bakersfield, California, is the time when and the place where any person owning real property within such territory so proposed to be annexed 'and having any objections to'the proposed annexation may appear before'the Council of the~City of Bakersfield and show cause why' such territory should not be~ so ·annexed.
