RESOLUTION OF 'i]-IE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
BAKERSFIELD ORDERING '~-!E VACATION OF A
PORTION OF OWENS STREET BETWEEN TRUXTUN
AVENUE AND EAST 21ST STREET~ CITY OF
BAKERSFiELDo
WI-iEREAS, on the !7th day of january, 1966~ the Council
of the City of Bakersfield, pursuant to the provisions of the
~$treet Vacation Act of 1941:'~ being Division 9, Part 3, of the
Streets and Highways Code of the State of California~ passed and
adopted its Resolution of Intention No. 807, declaring its intention
to order the vacation of a portion of CbTens Street bet~.~een Truxtun
Avenue and East 21st Street~ City of Bakersfield, California~ and
WHEREAS, said Council did fix a time and place for hearing
all persons interested in or objecting to said proposed vacation~
~,~hich said hearing ~.~as held on the 7th day of February~ 1966, after
notices ~ere duly posted as required by law, and
W}!EREAS, this Council after duly considering the matter~
does hereby find and resolve as follows:
1. That that portion of Owens Street between Truxtun
Aven'ue and East 21st Street, situate in the City of Bakersfie!d~
County of Kern, State of California.~ more particularly described
as follows, is unnecessary for present or prospective public street
purposes:
Being a portion of O~ens Streei-,~ of 80 feet in width~ bounded by
Blocks 105, 106, 127 and 128 as said ~qens Street and B!ccks are
shown on the map of ~East Bakersfield formerly Sunnier" filed for
1889 in the office of the County Recorder~
record January 12 ~ .~ _
County of Kern~ State of Ca!i'~fornia~ and more particularly
described as follews:
PAP~CEL B: Beginning at the southeast corner of Lot 32 of Dlock
said corner being a pcint in the west line of O~gens Street~ thenc~
north along the east line of said Lot to the northeast comer
thereof; thence No 65° Eo~ to intersect the west line of Block 105~
said point of intersection being a point in the east line of
.Owens S~ree~; thence south along the west line of said Block
to the southwest corner thereofF thence westerly to the moutheast
corner of said Block 106~ being the point of beginning;
RETAXNING~ All of Parcels A and B ae a public utilities easement°
2o That 8aid portion of Owens Street between Truxtun
Avenue and ~ast 21st Street be and the ~ame is hereby clo~ed up~
vacated and abandoned for public street purposes~ subject to and
in conformity with the reservations and exceptions contained in and
contemplated by said Resolution of intention Noo 807. Reference
to aaid Resolution of Intention is hereby made for further
p~=~icularso
3o ,T~Ae City Clerk shall certify to the passage of thi~
~esolutlon and ~hall cause a certified copy hereof, attested by
the Clerk under the seal of the City, to be recorded in the office
of the County Recorder of the County of Kern~ California°
