A P~ESOLUTION OF TeE COFNC~L OF THE CITY OF
BA~ERSFXELD SETTING FORT~ TEE POLICY ~N
RESPECT TO REXMBURSEMENT OF EXPENSES OF
OFFICERS AND EMPLOYEES INCURRED ON BEHALF
OF THE CITY OF BAKERSF~ELDo
%~{E~$, it is necessary that officers.and employees be
reimbursed for actual and direct expenses over and above ordinary
costs incurred an ~he conduct of City business, and
WHEREAS, it is to the benefit of the City of Bakersfield
for officers and employees to attend, participate~ and engage in
professional associations~ business and industrial associations,
~eEislati~e functions~ municipal associations and organizations and
other associations pertaining to or affecting the growth and
development of the City~ and
~E~S~ officers and employees~ in order to fulfill to
the best their duties and obligations~ should not be required to
furnish at their o~n expense, meals~ travel expense, and expenses
related to attendance at meetings such ~$ co~lttee meetings of
the Council~ study meetings of com~issionsD Chamber of Commerce
meetings~ special business group meetings~ area development
water meetings, and any'other meetings at which attendance is in
the interest of the City, and
Wt{EREAS~ those persons servins in a voluntary capacity
at the request and/or invitation of the City of Bakersfield shall
be authorized meals~ transportation and/or lodging at the discretion
of the City~ and
WHEREkS~ it is recognized that on certain occasions it
is necessary to incur expenses for promotional purposes that will
aid the growth, development, operation and protection of the Cityus
interest°
NOW~ THEREFORE~-BE ~T RESOLVED by the Council of the City
1o F~pense~ incurred shall be only those necessary
expenses of transportatioa~ lodging~ meals and
registration at any of the ~unctions heretofore
enume~ateelo
2o /~xpen~e~ incur=eft for ~ravel~ lod~in~ and any
e~t~ao~d~na~y expense shall be ~eee~pted and
itemime~ on approved forms° in addition~ all
other allowable expenses set forth in paragraph
one 2hove shall be itemimedp where possible°
3o Such iremimed forms~ ~igned by the officer or
employee shall be attached to the claim vouchers
~egul~rly submitted for Council approv~lo
