RESOLUTION OF.-THE COUNCIL OF THE .CITY-OF
'BAKERSFIELD URGING THE 'CALIFORNIA AND"PACiFIC·
SOUTHWEST RECREATION AND PARKS CONFERENCE TO
HOLD ITS CONVENTION IN BAKERSFIELD.
WBEREAS, the 20th Annual California and Pacific· Southwest
Recreation and Parks Conference..~ill 'be ~eld'between. February 15
andMarch 15 during 1968, and, -.
WHEREAS, .the Bakerlsfield Civic AuditOrium, with its large.
concert hall;' arena area, and meeting rooms, permitting. maximum.
flexibility 'of room and meeting arrangements, Which allow for
simultaneous meetings of seven or eight..targe committees of the
Conference, in addition to providing other conference needs, can
accommodate the Conference, .and .. - "' -'
WHEREAS, the Bakersfield area has numerous motel, hotel,·
and restaurant facilities, providing modern accommodations for large
numbers of people, and ..
WHEREAS~ the Bakersfield area with. the moderate'winter
climate. and its proximity to recreational"fa'cilities being ideally
situatedproVidesa natural setting.for the 20th Annual California
and PaCific southwest Recreation and 'Parks_Conference.
NOW, THEREFORE, 'BE IT-RESOLVED BY THE "COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF'BAKERSFIELD THAT: :·. ':
The Executive Council of the'California and Pacific
Southwest Recreation and Parks Conference is hereby urged to give
serious consideration and approva'l to hold the 1968 Conference in
Bakersfield, California.

I HEREBYCERTIFY that the foregoing. Resolution was
passed and adopted by the Council of the City of Bakersfield at
a regular,meeting thereof held on the i7th dayof A~gust, 1964,
by the-following vote:
