RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAKERSFIELD, CALIFORNIA,
CONEERNING THE FORMATION OF A COUNTY SERVICE AREA°
WHEREAS, a petition has been filed with the Board of
Supervisors of the County of Kern, State of California, re~
questing the institution of proceedings for the establishment
of a County Service Area under the provisions of the COUNTY
SERVICE AREA LAW (Chapter 2.2 of Division 2 of Title 3 of the
Government Code of the State of California, Sections 25,210.1 =
25,216); and,
WHEREAS, a copy of said petition, including a d~s~
cription of 'said Service Area and a map thereof, is on file in
the Public Records of the City of Bakersfield, Kern County,
California; and,
WHEREAS, the types of extended services to be pro-
vided within said area are the advertising, exploiting and
making known the commercial, industrial, recreational, artistic,
musical, cultural, and other resources and advantages of that
part of the County within the boundaries of the proposed service
area; and,
WHEREAS, Section 25,210.10 (a) provides that all or
any part of a city may be included in the formation of a county
service area ira resolution of consent adopted by a majority
vote of the membership of the city legislative body is filed
with the Clerk of the Board of Supervisors before~said Board
adopts its Resolution of Intention; and,
WHEREAS, this Council has reviewed the factors re-
lating to the advisability of granting said consent; and,
WHEREAS, th~ Council finds that the formation of
said service area is in keeping with the best interests of
the inhabitants of the City of Bakersfield,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that, the Council of
the City of Bakersfield, Kern County, California, pursuant to
a Section 25,210.10a of the Government Code of the State of
California, consents to the proposed County Service Area #2,
and that a copy of this resolution consenting to same be for-
warded to and filed with the Clerk of the Board of Supervisors
of Kern County, State of California, as required by said section
of said Government Code.
I HEREBY CERTIFY, that the foregoing resolution was
passed and adopted by the Council of the City of Bakersfield,
Kern County, California, at a regular meeting of said Council~
held on the 1st day of June , 1964,
