A RESOLUTION OF THE :CITY. COUNCIL. OF THE' CITY
OF BAKERSFiELD ESTABLISHING :A: SCRAP METAL'
YARD. IN' AN M- 2 '(GENERAL MANUFACTURING) ZONE
UPON CERTAIN CONDITIONS.
WHEREAS,. the 'Planning Commission. of the ;City of Bakers-
field did, on the 8th day of April, 1964, pass a' resolution finding
that, the inclusion Of an additional use, to'wit:. Scrap Metal Yard,.
in an M-2 (General IManufactU~'ing).'. Zone ~'.' would-not .be more obnoxious
,or detrimental to the 'welfare of the comrnUni't~"th.a,:n' the .permitted
uses specifically mentioned in Chapter 17.32 of Title Seventeen of
the Bakersfield Municipal Code., and .: '
WHEREAS, the CO~incil of the City' of. Baker'sfield has
considered said matter and does find 6~at t. he inclusion of said'
additional use in said zone will not be more *obnoxious or detri-
mental to the welfare.'of the community than the. permitted uses
specifically mentioned in Chapter 17.32 of Title Seventeen'of the
Bakersfield Municipal Code, and
~.. NOW, THEREFORE, pursuant to 'Section 17'52.040 Of Title
Seventeen of the Bakersfield Municipal COde, the Council of said
City does HEREBY RESOLVE that the addi"tional' use, to .wit:' SCRAP
METAL .YARD', be and the same is hereby included as a specifically
permitted. use in an M-2 (General· Manufacturing) 'Zone, subject to
· the following Conditions: , "-: .'
a. COmplete screening ion the property by permanent
building structures, 'natural barriers or fencing,
either solid or chain link fencing with' slats,
t.o a height of .not less than ten (10) feet.
~' b.- No scrap iron, metal or Other· mater'ials to 'be stacked
or piled higher than the height of the fencing.

enclosed structure having suitable' venting and /
