A RESOLUTION OF' THeE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF -.
BAKERSFIELD PROVIDING FOR THE CONSOLIDATION
OF A NOMINATING MUNICIPAL ELECTION FOR THE
OFFICE OF MAYOR WITH THE 'STATE DIRECT ~PRIMARY
ELECTION AND pRESIDENTIAL ELECTION TO BE HELD
ON JUNE 2~ 1964, AND. REQUESTING THE BOARD OF
SUPERVISORS OF THE COUNTY' .OF. KERN. TO ORDER'
~THE CONSOLIDATION OF SAID .ELECTIONS..
'WHEREAS, on the 30th day ~f March, 1964,'-this Council did
.pass and adopt' Res61ution No.. 18~64 '&~lii~g a nominating municipal.
electi6n to be held in the City 0f Bakersfield,. on the 2nd day of
June, 1'964, for the ~urpose of filling the office of-Mayor of the
City of Bakersfield, for .the full te'rm of four years; ahd
WHEREAS, it is the desi, re of this. Council' that said
nominatihg municipal election be consolidated with the State Direct
Primary Election and Presidential Election to be held June 2, 196'4,
NOW~ THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by. the Council of the City
of Bakersfield as follows: '
· ~'--'~ 1. That the Board of Supervisors of 'the .County of Kern,-
is her'eby .requested to make an order, Ipursuant' to Section 23302
of the Governme.nt Code of the State of .Catifornia~ 'consolidating
the nominating muniCipaL election called by the. COuncil of the
City'~of Bakersfield for June 2, 1964', with the State DireC~ Primary
.Election and Presidential ElectiOn to be hei'd on' the same 'date ~
2. That the list of"'candidates 'for 'the office of Mayor
of the City Of Bakersfield, as the.-same is to appear on the ballot,
be 'as follows:

3. That within the City of Bakersfie'ld the .precincts,
polling places and officers of election for said nominating
municipal 'election shall be the .same as-those· provided for said
State Direct Primary Election and Presidential Election within said'
City.
4. That ,the Board of .Supervisors o-f. the County of Kern
is hereby authorized to canvass the- returns of said nominating
municipal election and shall certify· the results of the canvass
of said returnS' to the Council of the City of Bakersfield, who
shall thereUpOn' declare the results .theSeof,
5. 'That the Clerk of the "Council is' hereby direc~ed to
transmit and file certified copies of thi's resolution with said
Board o'f Supervisor. s and the Clerk of Kern County-, as required by
