A RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCiL'OF THE· CITY OF
BAKERSFIELD MODIFYING FREEWAY AGREEMENT
COVERING STATE HIGHWAY ROUTE 57 BETWEEN M
STREET AND THE EAST CITY LIMI'T 'OF BAKERSFIELD"'
. .'WHEREAS, On Juiy 17, 1961, the City-of ?Bakersfield.'and
the ·State: o.f California entered into a freeway agreement covering
that portion 62 state Highway RoUte 57 .'.in the 'CityTof Bakersfield
between.M Street' and the east cit~ ':iimi't of"~akerSfield; and
WHEREAS, the parties thereto desire' to .make certain
changes, which Changes the .City of Bakersfield finds and determines
to be in the public interest..; - . -'
-NOW~ THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED-By th.'e' CoUncil of the.. City
of Bakersfield as follows:
-.'1. That the - foli6wing changes in the-.exiSting, freeWay
agreement.. are~hereby approVed:.
(a) Elimination of the propOSed Gravel Pit Spur railroad
grade' separation. ..
(b) Realignment of the weste.rly 'extension of Nevada
Street between San Dimas Street and the Kern Island Canal so that
it parallels the relocated Gravel Pit Spur. ..:.
(c) Addition of a cul-de-Sac at the south endof:'San
· .- 'Dimas .Street. . .'
'. " (d) . Closure of San Dimas Street' and 27th Street at the
north right of way line of the reloca.ted Gravel Pit. '.Spur.
(e) Addition of 'a new Connection of HOmaker· Place. 'to
Espee' Street along a line approximately' 175+ feet. e'ast"6'f the
center line: of Q ·Street · ' ' ' . ','
