WHEREAS', the hereinafter 'described portions-of City

Company's Gravel Pit Spur, in conne'Ct'ion with..the rl~location and

Works,-to construct and .remoVe raiIroad tracks across the .herein-
after described portions .of. City st~e'etS pursuant tol Orderis
Public Utilities Commission of .the St-ate of CalifOrnia authorizing
such construction and abandonment; and ..
WHEREAS, the City Council- d'f the City of Bakersfield is
desirous of authorizing the State ofi'.California, Department. of
Public Works, DiVision of HighWayS, to ~nake'application to
secure any necessary permission from the Public U~ilities/'CommisSion
of the State '0f California 'to construct and. abandon said .hereinafter
