A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY. OF'.'BAKERSFIELD,
STATE OF CALIFORNIA, REQUESTING THE 'CALI-
FORNIA HIGHWAY COMMISSION TO ADOPT CERTAIN
STREETS AS STATE HIGHWAY ROUTE 58 IN THE
CITY OF BARERSFIELD.
WHEREAS, it-is urgent to relieve traffic congestion·
24th Street, said street being State Highway Route 58 be.tween Oak
Street and Golden State 'Avenue in the City of Bakersfield; and
WHEREAS, by Ordinance 'No l. 1467 ," New series ~. the. City
Council of~said City has declared portions .of 24th, Street and ·23rd
'Street between the vicinity .of "B" Street. and "Q" Street' to b~
one-way streets contingent upon their ad.0ption as State"HighwaF
Route .58 ;. and ~ " .., '
'·'WHEREAS, said 24t.h',Street and'said 2'3rd- Street"~e
substantially parallel, .and the distance between them'is'one City
"block '.or approximately 350 ·feet.. · · ='
,~NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved by the Council of the
· City of-Bakersfield as f.ollows:
That the California·,Highway. CO,mmission is hereby ·r~~'
quested to declare and adopt State Highway Route 58-'aS follows:
· AlOng 23rd·and 24'th./-Streets','
these being substantially
parallel streets.wi[hin the
