HomeMy WebLinkAboutRES NO 20-63RESOLUTION N0. 20-63 A RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAKERSFIELD FIXING A TIME AND PLACE FOR HEARING PROTESTS BY PERSONS OWNING REAL PROPERTY WITHIN TERRITORY DESIGNATED AS "WESTCHESTER NO. 2,." PROPOSED TO BE ANNEXED TO THE CITY OF BAKERS- FIELD. " WHEREAS, a petition was filed with the 'CO'uncil of the City of Bakersfield on the 15th day of March, 1963,. requesting that certain uninhabited territory 'therein described be annexed to and. incorporated within the City of Bakersfield., and WHEREAS, said petition Was signed by the owners of 'not less, than one-fourth (1/4) of the area of the land in such territory, and representing not less than one.fourth (i/4) Of the. assessed value o.f such 'territory .according to the last. preceding equalized assessment roll of the County 'of Kern. .... NOW, THEREFORE, in compliance with the provisions. of the .Annexation of Uninhabited Territory Act '0f '1939,' ,Chapter' 297, as amended, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the 'City of' Bakersfield, as follows: · That the boundaries of'the territory so proposed to be annexed to the City of Bakersfield are described.as follows.: A parcel of land situate in the County of Kern, State of California, and being a portion of 'Sections 25 and 2.6, Township' 29 ·South, Range 27 East, M.D'.M: Beginning at the point of intersection of the east. line Of Oak Street, of 82.5 feet in width, as said'Oak Street is shown on the "Map of the City of Bakers field" recorded November 25, 1898, in Book 1 of Maps at pages 13 and 14 in the office of the County Recorder of said Kern County and the northerly right. of way line of the State Highway - District VI, Ker 58, 'Section L, Said inter- Section being a point in the current corporate boundary of the City of Bakers field; ,. ~ENCE (2) 'N.32~ll'20"E.., 283.48 feet; THENCE (3) N.52°01'10',E., 249.43 'feet, more or-less, to. intersect the said eastline of Oak Street, being a point on the current corporate boundary; THENCE (4) S.0'13'50"W., along .the said corporate boundary, 496.30 feetI to the point of beginning and containing 2..246 acres of land more or less... .~· That a designation appropriately naming such territory i~s "WESTCHESTER NO. 2." · BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, ·that'Monday, the 29th day ~f April, 1963, at the hour of eightl o'clock P.M., in the CoUncil Chambers of the'City Hall, 1501 Truxtun Avenue, Bakersfield,' California, is the time when and the place where any person owning real property within such territory .so 'propoSed to be annexed and having any objections to the proposed annexation may appear before the Council of the City'of Bakersfield and show cause why such territory should not be annexed. ~- ... ...... o0o I HEREBY CERTIFY t~at the foregoing Resolution was passed and adopted by the Council of the city of Bakers field at a regular lmee.ting thereof held/on the 18th day of March, 1963, .by the fo 1 lowing vote: ~Y]~ ~' ANZ, CROES', DOOI.
