A RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
· BAKERSFIELD FIXING A TIME AND PLACE. FOR HEARING
PROTESTS BY PERSONS OWNING REAL PROPERTY WITHIN
TERRITORY DESIGNATED AS "GREATER BAKERSFIELD
MEMORIAL HOSPITAL NO. 2," PROPOSED TO BE.
ANNEXED TO THE CITY OF BAKERSFIELD.
WHEREAS, a petition was filed with the Council.of,the~City of
Bakersfield on the 25th day of May, 1962, requesting that certain
,uninhabited territory therein described be annexed to and incorpor'ated
within the City of Bakersfield, and
'WHEREAS, said petition was Signed by the owners 70f not less
than one-fourth (1/4) of the area of the 'land in such territory, and
representing' not less than one-fourth' (1/4)' of the. assessed value of
such territory according. to the last preceding equalized assessment
roll of the County of Kern.
NOW, THEREFORE, in compliance with the provisions of th'e
Annexation of Uninhabited Territory Act of 1939, Chapter 297, as
amended, BE IT 'RESOLVED by the Council of the City Of Bakersfield, as
fo 1 lows:
That the boundaries of the 'territory so proposed to be annexed
to the City of Bakers field are described as follows:
A parcel of land .situate in the Count.y of Ker~ State of California,
and being a: portion of the northeast quarter (N.E.-1/4) of Section
19, Township.29 SOUth, Range 28 East, M. D. M.:
Beginning at a point on the north line of 34th' Street-, distant
thereon 41.25 feet easterly of the southeast corner of Block 630
of the City of Bakersfield, as shown on that certain map dated
March. 10, 1904, entitled "Sales Map of Kern County Land Company
showing subdivisions of its additions to the City of Bakersfield,
Kern County, California," filed in the office of the County Recorder
of said Kern County, April 19, 1904; thence N.' 0° 16' 20" E.,
parallel with and 41.25 feet easterly of the~ east line of said
Block 630, a distance of 610.42 feet .to the northwest corner of
that parcel of land Conveyed to the Greater Bakersfield' Memorial

at page 53 of Official Records of Kern County, said northwest corner
being a point on the current corporate boundary of the City of
Bakersfield, as same is defined by Ordinance No. 1002, New Series,
and also being the true point of beginning;
THENCE (1) N. 0' 16' 20!' E., departing from the said corporate
· boundary of the City of Bakers field, a distance of
387.60 feet;
THENCE (2)'. S. 89' 43' 40" E., a distance of 663.00 feet more or
less to a point in the west line of that certain parcel
deeded to Pacific Gas and Electric Company by Kern
County Land Company, recorded March 14, 1951, in Book
1784 at page 258 of Official Records;
THENCE ('3) S. 14° 01' E., along last named west line, a distance
of 399.97 feet more or less to the northeast corner
of said parcel of land conveyed to the Greater
Bakersfield Memorial Hospital Association~ and Said
northeast corner being a point on the current
corporate boundary of the City of Bakers field as de-
fined by Ordinance No. 1002, New Series;
THENCE (4) N. 89' 43' 40" W., along. the corporate boundary, a
distance of 761.72 feet to the true point of beginning,
containing 6,339 acres of 'land, more or less.
That a designation appropriately naming such .territory is-
"GREATER BAKERSFIELD MEMORIAL HOSPITAL NO. 2 ,"
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that Monday, the' 9th day of'July, 1962,
at the hour of eight o'clock P.M., in the Council Chambers of the
City Hall, .1501 Truxtun Avenue, Bakersfield, California is the time
when and the place w~ere any person owning real property· within such
territory sO proposed to be annexed and having any objections to the
proposed annexati·on may appear before the Council of the 'City of
Bakersfield, and show cause why such territory should not be annexed.

I HEREBY CERTIFY 'that the foregoing Resolution' was passed and
adopted by the Council of the City of Bakers field at a regular. meeting
thereof held on the 28th day of May, 1962, by the following vote:
