A RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
BAKERSFIELD AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE
MAYOR TO SIGN CONTRACT NO. 29-62 .
WHEREAS, it is provided in Section 194.2, Streets and Highways
Code, that any city whose population has increased substantially since
the last Federal Census may apply to the Department of Finance of the
State of California, to estimate the increase in population, and
WHEREAS, said Section 194.2 provides that the Department of
Finance may make the estimate if in the opinion of the Department
there is available adequate information Upon which to base the
es timate, and
WHEREAS, the City of Bakersfield desires to have the Department
of.Finance estimate the increase and the Department is willing to
make such estimate provided adequate information is available upon
which to base the estimate,
NOW, THEREFORE,. BE IT RESOLVED, by the Council of the City of
Bakers field:
That the Mayor Of the City of Bakersfield is hereby authorized
and directed to sign Contract No. 29-62 between the Department of'
Finance of the State of California and the City of Bakersfield
providing for an estimate of the increase in population of said City
since the last Federal Census.

I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution Was passed
and adopted by the Council of the City of Bakersfield at a regular
meeting thereof held on the 21st day of May,-1962, by the following
