HomeMy WebLinkAboutRES NO 29-62 RESOLUTION NO. 29-62 = WHEREAS, the California State Assembly Interim Committee on Natur:al Resources are to meet in Bakersfield, Kern County., California on April 24th and 25th, 196'2, to consider the problems pertinent to a fair and. equitable division of water in Kern River and Lake Isabella, NOWay. THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Bakersfield, as follows: · That the above,named committee go on record and assist in enacting.legislatiOn, both in the California State Legislature and the United' States Congress, for= the following ·purpose: 1. To make a .study of all dry areas, where water iS removed from the stream bed, not leaving sufficient water in the stream bed' for protection of aquatic life, ·'as the Federal Statutes and California Laws require; 2, T0~make a study for the purpose of developing the full potential capacity of Lake Isabella, to store water for flood protection, recreation and aquatic life, retaining sufficient water behind the dam, so as t.o keep the entire flow of the .Kern River through Lake Isabel!a; 3. To make a study to close the Kern· River l for all-fishing, when trout are.'not' allowed to be 'legally taken,. except ·that area known as Lake Isabella; Lake Isabella to ..remain open all year as now allowed. · o0o ' ' 1.
