A RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF·
BAKERSFIELD FIXING A TIME AND PLACE FOR HEARING
PROTESTS.BY PERSONS OWNING REAL PROPERTY WITHIN
TERRITORY DESIGNATED AS "BRITE NO. 4," ·PROPOSED
TO BE ANNEXED TO THE CITY OF BAKERSFIELD.
WHEREAS, a"petition was filed with the Council of the' City of
Bakers field on the.. 15th day of March, 1962, requesting that c'ertain
uninhabited territory therein described be annexed to· and incorporated
within the .City of Bakers field, and .
WHEREAS, said petition was signed by the' owners of all of the
territory proposed to be annexed.
NOW, T~EREFORE, in compliance with the provisions of the
AnnexatiOn of Uninhabited Territory ACt of 1'939, .Chapter. 297, as
amended, BE IT RESOLVED by the Coundil of the City of Bakersfield, as

That'-the boundaries' of th~ ter'r'itory· s9 .proposed to be annexed
to the City of Bakers field are described. as follows:
A parcel of land. situate in the County of Kern~ State Lof California,
and being a~.portion of Section 1, Township 30 South, Range 27 East,
M .D .M.
Corf~ftencing at the 'southwest corner of Lot i'6,. said. corner being the
intersection of the .west line of Lot 16 and the centerline of the
road known as Terrace Way, in said Section 1, as said corner is 'shown~',

on the "'Kern County 'Sales Map No. 1 'of Lands of J. B. Haggin,
for record May 3, 1889, in the office of the County Recorder of said
'Kern County;'thence northerly along the westerly boundary of said Lot
16 a distance of 172 feet to intersect the westerly prolongation of
the southerly ~boundary of that certain parcel of land'desCribed by
that particular Grant Deed dated March 26, 1947, and recorded April 11,
1947, in Book 1410, at page 378, Official Records of Kern County,
said point of intersection being a 7point on the .corporate boundary of
the City of Bakers field as same is defined by Ordinance NO. ~1348 ,. . New
Series;. thence easterly along last named' southerly. boundary and
.westerly prolongation to intersect a line parallel With, distant 20
feet easterly as measured perpendicular to the' westerly boundary of.
Lot. 16,' said last 'named parallel line 'being the' easterly line of

being the true point of beginning;
easterly along said southerly boundary, and along the
corporate boundary of the City of 'Bakersfield, to a point
in the east line of the west 120 zfeet of Lot 16;

Lot 16 to intersect the north line of Terrace Way, of 60 ..
feet in width;

westerly along the north line of.Terr.ace Way to intersect
a line parallel with, distant 20 feet easterly, as
measured perpendicular to the westerly boundary o£ said
Lot 16;
northerly along last named parallel line to the true
point of beginning,. containing 0.326 acres of land,. more
or less.
That a designation appropriately naming such territory is
'~BRITE NO. 4,"
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that Monday, the. 23rd day 0f April,
1962, at the hour of eight,o"'elock P.M.'~, in the'Council Chambers.of
the 'City Hall, 1501 Truxtun Avenue, Bakersfield, California, is the
time when and the place where, any person owning real property within
such territory so proposed to be annexed and having any objections to
the proposed annexation may.appear. before the Council of the City of
Bakersfield and. show cause why SuCh territory should not be annexed.

I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was passed and
adopted by the CounCil of the City of Bakers field at a regular meeting
thereof held. on the 19th day of March., 1962, by the following vote:
