A RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
BAKERSFIELD CALLING-A SPECIAL'MUNICIPAL
ELECTION FOR THE PURPOSE OF SUBMITTING TO
THE QUALIFIED REGISTERED ELECTORS A PROPO-
SITION TO ADOPT AN ORDINANCE ALTERING THE
BOUNDARIES OF EACH OF THE SEVEN WARDS OF
THE CITY OF BAKERSFIELD.
WHEREAS, in accordance with the provisions' of SectiOn 11.1 of
the Charter of the City of Bakersfield, the Council of said City did,
on the 22nd day of January, 1962, duly pass and adopt Ordinance No.
1403, New Series, altering the boundaries of the seven wards of the
City in order that each ward shall contain as nearly as possible, an
equal number of qualified registered electors therein, and
WHEREAS, the Charter provides that said ordinance shall be
submitted to referendum. .
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council.~of the City of
Bakersfield, as follows:
.1. That a special municipal election be held, and the same is
hereby called to be held in the City of Bakersfield, on the 5th day
of June, 1962, for the purpose Of submitting to the qualified registered
electors of'said City, a proposition for the approval or rejection of
Ordinance 1403, New Series, entitled "An Ordinance Altering the
Boundaries of each of.the Seven Wards of the City. of Bakersfield,
California," a correct copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated
by reference.

I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing~Resoluti0n was passed and
adopted by the Council of the City of Bakers field at a regular meeting
thereof held on the 12th day of March, 1962, by the following vote:
