A RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
BAKERSFIELD, CALIFORNIA, ORDERING THE
VACATION OF AN ALLEY LYING WITHIN BLOCK
· 232, IN SAID CITY.
WHEREAS, on the 26th day of December, 1961, the Council of the
City of Bakers field, pursuant to the provisions of the "Street
Vacation Act of 1941," being Division 9, part 3·, (Sections 8300, et
Seq.) of the Streets and Highways Code of the State of California,
passed and adopted its Resolution of Intention No. 767, declaring its
intention to order the vacation of an alley situate within the City
of Bakersfield, County of Kern, State of California,
WHEREAS, said Council did fix a time and place for'hearing all
persons interested in or objecting to saidproposed.vacation, which
said hearing was held on the 15th dayof January, 1962, after Notices
were duly posted as required by law, and
WHEREAS, this Council~.fter duly considering the matter, does
hereby find~ and resolve as follows: '*
1. That that n6rtbwe~terly, southeasterly alley lying within
Block 232, East Bakersfield, formerly Sumner, 'County of Kern, State of
California, described as follows, is unnecessary for present or
prospective public street purposes: -
All of that .alley of 20 fee't7 in width 'lying within Block
232, and as said alley and said Block are shown on the
"Map of Bake·rsfield, Kern County, California" showing
."East Bakersfield, former,ly.Sumner" filed in the office
of the Recorder of said Kern County, January 12, 1889.
Excepting and retaining the norlthwesterly 80 feet of the
above described alley for~the purpose of a public
utilities easement. "
2. That said alley be and the same is hereby closed up,

conformity with the reservation of the easement contained in and
contemplated by said' Resolution of Intention No. 767. Reference to
1.
said Resolution of Intention is hereby made for further particulars.
3. The City Clerk shall certify to the passage of this
Resolution and shall cause a certified copy hereof, attested by the
Clerk under the seal of the City, to be recorded in the Office of
the County Recorder of the County of Kern, California.
