RESOLUTION OF THE-COUNCIL OF. THE' CITY OF
BAKERSFIELD, ORDERING THE VACATION OF A
PORTION OF "R" STREET IN THE CITYOF
BAKERSFIELD.
WHEREAS, on the 20th day of November, 1961, the Council of the
City of Bakersfield, pursuant to the provisions of the "Street
Vacation Act of 1941," being Division 9, Part 3, of the Streets and
Highways Code of the State of California, passed and adopted its
'Resol'ution of Intention No. 764, declaring its intention to order the
vacation'of a portion' of "R" Street, City of Bakersfield, California,
and
WHEREAS, said Council did fix a time and place for hearing all
persons interested in or objecting to said proposed vacation, which
said hearing was held on the 18th day of December, 1961, after notices
were duly posted as required by law, and
WHEREAS,. this-Council-after duly considering the matter, does
hereby find and resolve as follows:
1. That that portion of "R" Street, situate in the City of.
Bakers field, County of Kern, State of California, more particularly
described as follows', is unnecessary for present or prospective-public
street purposes:
All of "R" Street of 82.5 feet in 'width lying between the·
easterly-westerly prolongation of the northerly line of
9th Street of 82.5 'feet in width and the southwesterly
right-of-way' line of that portion of the Kern Island Canal
bounded on the west by the easterly boundary of Block 34,
· Lowell Addition and bounded on the east by westerly boundary
of Block 35, said Lowell Addition, and as said Streets,
Blocks and Canal are shown on the "Map of the City of
Bakersfield," filed November 25, 1898, in the office of
the County Recorder of Kern. County, California.

public utilities easement.
2. That said portion of "R" Street be and the same is hereby
closed up, vacated and'abandOned'for public 'street purposes, subject
to'and in conformity with the reservations and exceptions contained
in and contemplated by said Resolution of Intention No. 764..Reference
to said Resolution of Intention is hereby made .for further particulars.
3.. The City Clerk shall certify to the passage of this Reso-
lution and shall cause.a certified Copy hereof, attested by the Clerk
under the seal of the City, to be recorded in the office of. the County
Recorder of the County of Kern, California..

I HEREBY CERTIFY that the .fOregoing Resolution was passed and
adopted by the Council of the City-of BakerSfield, at a ·regular meeting
thereof, held on the 18th day of December,. 1961, by the following vote:
