RESOLUTION OF THE .COUNCIL OF THE.CITY OF
.BAKERSFIELD ASCERTAINING AND DETERMINING
THE PREVAILING RATE OF WAGES TO BE PAID
IN THE MATTER OF "PUBLIC IMPROVEMENT
DISTRICT NO. 763," IN SAID CITY.
.. WHEREAS,. the Council of.the City of Bakersfield, California,
did, on the '9th day of October, 1961', adopt Resolution of Intention
NO."763, for 'the construction of certain improvements in Public
'Improvement District No. 763, and
WHEREAS, pursuant to the provisions of .the Labor Code of the
State of CalifOrnia, it is necessary that the Council of the City of
Bakersfield, California, as.certain and determine the general prevailing
rate of wages on pubiicworks'~ and by the provisionsof said Code make
it mandatory upon the awarding body of any public contract where the
said body subsequently calls for bids for any public improvement, to
ascertain and determine the prevailing rate of per diem wages in the
locality in which the work is to be performed, for each craft or type
of workman or mechanic needed to execute the contract, and also the
general prevailing rate for legal holiday and overtime work. for each
craft or typeof workman.
NOW, THEREFORE, the Council of the City Of Bakers field, Cali-
fornia,-has ascertained and does hereby. determine that .the general
prevailing rate of per diem wages in the locality in which the said
work described to be performed in the said resolution, for each craft
or type bf workman or mechanic needed to execute the contract, and
also the general prevailing rate for legal holiday and overtime work
for each craft and type of workman or mechanic, to be as follows:

Sundays and holidayslnot less than one and one-haif (1-1/2) times
the above rates. The holidays upon whi·ch such ~ates shall be paid
shall be 'all holidays recognized in the collective bargaining agreement
applicable to the particular craft,. classification or type of workmen
employed on the project.
In accordance with the provisions 0f Section 1777.5 of the
Labor Code, as amended by Chapter 691, Statutes of 1957, and in
accordance with the regulations of the California Apprenticeship,
Council, properly 'indentured apprentices'may be· employed in tie
prosecution of the work.

I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing ResolutiOn was passed and
adoptedby .~he Council of the City of Bakersfield at a regular meeting
thereof, held on the 20th day of November, 19'61, by the following vote:
