A RESOLUTION ORDERING THE WORK IN PUBLIC
IMPROVEMENT DISTRICT NO. 763 IN THE CITY
OF BAKERSFIELD, CALIFORNIA.
BE IT RESOLVEDBY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAKERSFIELD as
follows:· ~
WHEREAS, the Council of'the City of Bakersfield did on the 9th
· day of October, 1961, pass its Resolution of Int'ention No. 763 to order
the work described therein ·to be done and improvement tobe made in·
said City;'and-
WHEREAS, said· Resolution of Intention was duly and legally
published twice immediately after the passage Of said Resolution, as
· required by law, in the Bakersfield Californian, a daily newspaper
published and circUlated·in said City,. and designated·by said Council
for that purpose; and
WHEREAS, notices of the passage of said Resolution of Intention
No. 763, headed "NOTICE OF IMPROVEMENT" were duly and legally posted
along the lines of said contemplated work and improvement and along all
the open streets.within such' district, at not more than 300 feet apart,
in the'time, fo'rm.and manner as required by law; and
WHEREAS, said posting was fully completed more .than ten days
before 'the date set for hearing protests and objections; and
WHEREAS, notice of the adoption Of said Resolution of Intention
was given by mail· in the manner required by law; and
WHEREAS, the time set for hearing of objections in said Reso-
lution of Intention was more than fifteen and less than sixty days
from the date of the passage and adoption of said Resolution; and
WHEREAS, said City Council having duly received and coDsidered
evidence oral and documentary concerning the jurisdictional facts in
this proceedings and concerning the ·necessi'ty for the contemplated work
improvement and the benefits to be de. rive. d therefrom, and said City
Council having now acquired jurisdiction to order the proposed
improvement.
IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED, that the public interest and convenience
require the'work described in Resolution of Intention No. 763 to be
done, and the Council of the City of Bakersfield hereby orders the work
· therein described to be done. Said work shall..be done in accordance
with the plan and specifications/therefor, heretofore approved by this
Council. For further particular=s reference is hereby made to said
Resolution of Intention No. 763,I plan and specifications, all of which
are on file in the office of the City Clerk.
The ·City Clerk of the City of Bakers field is hereby directed ·to
post a notice referring to the. specifications therefor, conspicuously
for five days, on·Or near the door of the 'Council Chambers of the
Council of the City of Bakersfield, inviting sealed proposals or 'bids
for doing the work herein ordered. The Clerk is also directed to
publish a notice inviting such proposals' and referring .'to the~~ specifi-
cations so posted or on file, twice~ in 'The Bakersfield Californian., a
daily newspaper .published and circulated in said City and hereby
designated for that' purpose.
The llth day of December~ 1961,-.is. hereby .designated and fixed
as the day on which up to the'hour of 5 6!clock P.M., the said. pro-
posals or bids shall be received, and all bids so received shall be
opened by the Council in open session at 8 o'clock P.M., of the said
day, and the said notices shall so specify.

I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was passed and
adopted by the Council of the City of Bakers field at a regular meeting
thereof held on the 20th day of November, 1961, by the following vote:
