HomeMy WebLinkAboutRES NO 99-61RESOLUTION NO. ~99-6,1 A RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAKERSFIELD FIXING A TIME AND PLACE FOR HEARING PROTESTS BY PERSONS OWNING REAL PROPERTY WITHIN TERRITORY DESIGNATED AS "CASTRO NO. 2," PRO- POSED TO BE ANNEXED TO THE CITY OF BAKERSFIELD. WHEREAS, a petition was filed with the Council of the City of Bakers field on the 19th day of October, 1961, requesting that certain uninhabited territory therein described be annexed to and incorporated within the City of Bakers field, and WHEREAS, said petition was signed by the owners of not less than one-fourth (1/4) of the area of the land in such territory, and representing not less than one-fourth (1/4) of the assessed value of such territory according to the last preceding equalized assessment roll of the County of Kern. NOW', THEREFORE, in compliance with the provisions of the Annexation of Uninhabited Territory Act of 1939, Chapter 297, as amended, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Bakersfield, as follows: That the boundaries of the territory so proposed to be annexed to the City of Bakersfield are described as follows: A parcel ofland situate in the County of Kern, State of California, and being a portion of Sections 11 and 12, Township 30-South, Range 27 East, M.D.M: Corf~f~encing at the northwest (N.W.) corner of the southwest quarter (S.W. 1/4) of said Section 12; thence easterly along the northerly boundary of the said southwest quarter (S.W. 1/4) of Section .12, a distance of 220.00 feet, and to the true point of beginning of this description, said true point of beginning being a point on the corpo- rate boundary of the City of Bakersfield as same is defined by Ordinance No. 1330, New Series; THENCE (l) southerly and parallel with the westerly boundary of the said southwest quarter (S.W. 1/4) of Section 12, to intersect a line. parallel with distant 30 feet southerly as measured perpendicular to the_no.~therly boundary of the southwest quarter (S.W. 1/4) of said Section 12; THENCE (2) easterly along last named parallel line to intersect the easterly boundary line of the west half .(W. 1/2) of the northeast quarter (N.E. 1/4) of the northwest quarter (N.W. 1/4) of the southwest quarter (S. W. 1/4) of said Section 12; THENCE (3) southerly along the last named easterly boundary, along the corporate boundary of the Cityof Bakersfield, as same is defined by Ordinance No. 1276, New Series, to intersect the southerly boundary of the north half ' (N. 1/2) of the northwest quarter (N. W. 1/4) of the southwest quarter of said Section 12; THENCE (4) westerly, departing from said corporate boundary, along the last named southerly boundary and the westerly prolongation thereof, to intersect a line parallel with, distant 30 feet westerly as measured perpendicular to the easterly boundary of said Section 11; T NCE (5) northerly along last named parallel line to intersect the westerly prolongation of the northerly boundary of the south half (S. 1/2) of the southwest quarter (S.W. 1/4) of the northwest quarter (N.W. 1/4) of said Section 12; THENCE (6) easterly along the last named westerly prolongation and along last named northerly boundary to intersect a line parallel with the westerly boundary of the northwest quarter (N.W. 1/4) of said Section 12, distant 220.00 feet easterly as measured along the southerly boundary of the northwest quarter (N.W. 1/4) of said Section 12, said point of inter- section being a point on the corporate boundary of the City of Bakersfield, as same is defined by said Ordinance No. 1330, New Series; THENCE (7) southerly along last named parallel line and along the last named corporate boundary to intersect the southerly boundary of the northwest quarter (N.W. 1/4) of said Section 12, the true point of beginning, containing 18.765 acres of land, more or less. That a designation appropriately naming such territory is "CASTRO NO. 2." BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that Monday, the llth day of December, 1961, at the hour of eight o'clock P.M., in the Council Chambers of the City Hall, 1501 Truxtun Avenue, Bakersfield, California is the time when and the place where any person owning real property within such territory so proposed to be annexed and having any objections to the proposed annexation may appear before the Co.unci.lrof the City of Bakersfield, and show cause why such territory should not be annexed. o0o I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was passed and adopted by the Council of the City of Bakers field at a regular meeting thereof held on the 30th day of October, 1961, by the following vote: AYES: NOES: ABSENT: BALFANZ, ~, CEOES, DOOLIN, t, AARCi.~DAI,IKS, t','',OSSMAN,~STIERN :::2-z --,/ ABSTAIN 1 NG: CITY CL~RK'~nd Ex-Officio Cler~ of the Council of the City of Bakersfield.
