A RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF BAKERSFIELD ENDORSING THE KERN COUNTY
WATER AGENCY.
WHEREAS, Kern County is now overdrawing its local water re-
sources by an enormous quantity yearly, and
WHEREAS, such continued overdraft will result in great losses
in jobs, incomes and investments in the very near future; and
WHEREAS, this ominous condition can be corrected through united,
county-wide action;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Council of the City of
Bakersfield hereby supports and endorses the Kern County Water Agency
as the best means for meeting present and future water needs of the
county and recommends approval of the Agency at the September 26
referendum election.

I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was passed and
adopted by the Council of the City of Bakersfield at a regular meeting
thereof held on the 5th day of September, 1961, by the following vote:
