A RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF BAKERSFIELD, CALIFORNIA, ORDERING THE
VACATION OF A PORTION OF "D" STREET, A
PORTION OF 14TH STREET AND A PORTION OF
THE 14TH STREET AND "C" STREET INTER-
SECTION, IN SAID CITY.
WHEREAS, on the 26th day of June, 1961, the Council of the City
of Bakersfield, pursuant to the provisions of the "Street Vacation
Act of 1941," being Division 9, part 3, (Sections 8300, Et. Seq.) of
the Streets and Highways Code of the State of California, passed and
adopted its Resolution of Intention No. 758, declaring its intention
to order the vacation of a portion of "D" Street, a portion of 14th
Street and a portion of the 14th Street and "C" Street intersection
in the City of Bakersfield, State of California, and
WHEREAS, said Council did fix a time and place for hearing all
persons interested in or objecting to said proposed vacation, which
said hearing was held 'on the 24th day of July, 1961, after notices
were duly posted as required by law, and
WHEREAS, this Council after duly considering the matter, does
hereby find and resolve as follows:
1. That that portion of "D" Street, that portion of 14th
Street and that portion of the 14th Street and "C" Street intersection
situate in the City of Bakersfield, County of Kern, State.of California,
more particularly described as follows, are unnecessary for present or
prospective public street purposes:
PORTION OF "D" STREET
A parcel of land situate in the City of Bakersfield, County of Kern,
State of California, and being a portion of "D" Street, lying between
Blocks 411 A and 359, as per "Map of the City of Bakersfield", filed
for record November 25, 1898, in Book 1 of Maps at pages 13 and 14 in
the office of the County Recorder of said Kern County, and described
as follows:
Beginning at the northeast corner of Lot 20 in said Block 411 A, a
point on the westerly boundary line of said "D" Street of 82.5 feet
in width;
THENCE (1) southerly along the westerly boundary line of said
"D" Street a distance of 35.00 feet to a point;
THENCE (2) northeasterly along a direct line to intersect the
westerly boundary of Lot 11, Block 359, distant
thereon, 6 feet southerly, from the northwest corner
of said Lot 11;
THENCE (3) northerly along the westerly boundary of said Lot
11, (along the easterly boundary line of said "D"
Street) to the northwest corner of said Lot 11;
THENCE (4) westerly along a direct line to the northeast corner
of said Lot 20 in said Block 411 A, the point of
beginning, containing 1691.25 square feet or 0.03883
acres of land more or less.
PORTION OF 14TH STREET
AND A PORTION OF THE 14TH' STREET AND "C" STREET INTERSECTION
A parcel of land situate in the City of Bakers field, County of Kern,
State of California, and being a portion of 14th Street and a portion'
of the 14th Street and "C" Street intersection, as per "Map of the
City of Bakersfield", filed for record November 25, 1898, in Book 1
of Maps at pages 13 and 14, in the office of the County Recorder of
said Kern County and described as follows:
Beginning at the southwest corner of Lot 8 in Block 411 A, a point
on the northerly 'boundary of said 14th Street of 82.5 feet in width;
THENCE (1) N. 89° 57' 40" E., along said last named northerly boundary
a distance of 41.25 feet to intersect the northerly
prolongation of the center-line Of "C" Street of 82.5
feet in width;
THENCE (2) N. 89° 59' 25" E., continuing along the northerly
boundary of said 14th Street a distance of 179,646
feet to a point, from which the radial center of
the following described curve bears S. 0° 00' 35" E.,
distant 611,844 feet;
THENCE (3) southwesterly along said curve concave to the
southeast with a radius of 611,844 feet, through
a central angle of 21° 09' 44", a distance of 225,985
feet to intersect the northerly prolongation of the
easterly boundary of Lot 1, Block 410 C, from which
the radial center of last named curve bears S. 21°
10' 19" E., distant 611.844 feet;
THENCE (4) N. 0° 01'45" W., along said last named northerly pro-
longation, a distance of 41.24 feet to the southwest
corner of said Lot 8 in Block 411 A, the point of
beginning, and as said Lots, Blocks and Streets are
shown on said "Map of the City of Bakersfield'.', and
containing 2995.64 square feet or 0.06877 acres of
land more or less.
2. That said portion of "D'~ Street, said portion of 14th Street
and that said portion of the 14th Street and "C" Street intersection,
be and the same are hereby closed up, vacated and abandoned for public
street purposes, subject to and in conformity with said Resolution of
Intention No. 762. Reference to said Resolution of Intention is
hereby made for further particulars.
3. The City Clerk shall certify to the passage of this
Resolution and shall cause a certified copy hereof, attested by the
Clerk under the seal of the City to be recorded in the office of the
County Recorder of the County of Kern, California.

I HEREBY CERTIFY'that the foregoing Resolution was passed and
adopted by the Council of the City of Bakersfield, at a regular meeting
thereof, .held on the 24th day of July, 1961, by the following vote:
