RESOLUTION OF INTENTION TO INCLUDE WITHIN THE
GREATER BAKERSFIELD SEPARATION OF GRADE DISTRICT
CERTAIN TERRITORY DESIGNATED AS "PACHECO NO. 1",
AND SETTING THE TIME AND PLACE FOR HEARING
OBJECTIONS TO THE INCLUSION OF SAID TERRITORY
WITHIN SAID DISTRICT.
WHEREAS, proceedings have been commenced for the annexation of
certain unincorporated territory, designated as "Pacheco No. 1", to
the City of Bakersfield, and
WHEREAS, all of said territory lies outside the Greater
Bakersfield Separation of Grade District, and
WHEREAS, Section 8290 of the Streets and Highways Code of the
State of California, provides that the unincorporated territory of a
county which was not included within a separation of grade district at
the time of the formation of such district, and which subsequent to
the formation of such district is annexed to or otherwise included
within a city which is a part of such district, shall immediately upon
such annexation to such city be included within the district and shall
thereafter become a part of. the district to the same extent as such
city; except such portion or portions thereof which the City Council
has determined, will not be benefited by inclusion in the district·
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of
Bakersfield, as follows:
1. That a description of the unincorporated t~'~i't'ory .....
described in the annexation proceedings, is as follows:
A parcel of land situate in the County of Kern, State of California,
and being a portion of Section 18, Township 30 South, Range 28 East,
M.D.M., and as said Section 18 is shown on the "Kern County'Sales
Map No. 1 of Lands of J. B. Haggin", filed for record May 3, 1889,
in the office of the County Recorder of said Kern County:
Beginning at the northwest corner of Lot 15 in said Section 18,
being the intersection of the easterly line of that north and
south public road of 60 feet in width, along the westerly boundary
of said Section 18, now known as South "H" Street, with the southerly
line of that east and west public road of 60 feet in width, along
the midsection line of said Section 18, now known as White Lane,
said point of beginning also being a point in the corporate. boundary
of the City of Bakersfield as same is defined by Ordinance No. 1122
New Series;
THENCE (1) easterly along said southerly line of White Lane,
(along the northerly boundary of said Lot 15)
on and along said corporate boundary as same is de-
fined by said Ordinance No. 1122 New Series, to
intersect the southerly prolongation of the easterly
boundary of Lot 6, in said Section 18;
THENCE (2) continuing easterly along the said southerly line
of White Lane (along the northerly boundary of Lot
14 in said Section 18) on and along the corporate.
boundary of the City of Bakers field as same is
defined by Ordinance No. 1260 New Series, to inter-
sect the southerly prolongation of a line parallel
with, distant 10 feet easterly, as measured perpendicular
to the westerly boundary of Lot 7, in said Section 18;
THENCE (3) continuing easterly along the said southerly line of
White Lane (along the northerly boundary of said
Lot 14) on and along the corporate boundary of the
City of Bakers field as same is defined by that certain
Resolution adopted May 2, 1961, by the Board of
Supervisors of said Kern County, pertaining to that
annexation designated as "White Lane No. 8"', and
recorded in Book 146, page 463, Official Minutes of
said Board of Supervisors, to intersect the easterly
boundary of said Lot 14;
THENCE (4) southerly, departing from the corporate boundary of
the City of Bakersfield, along the easterly boundary
of said Lot 14, and along the easterly boundary of
Lot 17 in said Section 18, and along the southerly
prolongation of last named easterly boundary, to
intersect the southerly boundary of said Section 18;
THENCE (5) westerly along said last named southerly boundary,
to intersect a line parallel with, distant 30 feet
easterly as measured perpendicular to the westerly
boundary of said Section 18, said parallel line
also being the easterly line of said South "H"

THENCE (6) northerly along last named parallel line and
along the westerly boundary of Lots 16 and 15
in said Section 18, to the northwest corner
of said Lot 15, the point of beginning containing
165.073 acres of land more or less.
2. That unless any portion shall be excluded by the City
Council, all portions of said unincorporated territory shall upon
annexation to the City of. Bakersfield be included within the Greater
Bakersfield Separation of Grade District.
3. That Tuesday, the 5th day of September, 1961, at the hour of
eight o'clock P.M., in the Council Chambers of the City Hall, 1501
Truxtun Avenue, Bakersfield, California, is the time when and the
place where, objections to inclusion within the district will be
heard.

I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was passed and
adopted by the Council of the City of Bakersfield, at a regular meeting
thereof held on the 24th day of July, 1961, by the following vote:
