A RESOLUTION CALLING A SPECIAL MEETING OF
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAKERSFIELD
FOR THE PURPOSE OF HOLDING A PUBLIC HEARING
AND FOR COUNCIL ACTION ON THE PROPOSED FREE-
WAY AGREEMENT WITH THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA
FOR THE LOCATION OF STATE SIGN ROUTE 178
BETWEEN "M" STREET AND THE EAST CITY LIMITS
OF THE CITY OF BAKERSFIELD.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Bakersfield has
determined that it is in the best interests of the citizens of
Bakersfield that a public meeting be held on the 'question of whether
the City should enter into a freeway agreement with the State of
California with regard to the location of State Sign Route 178;
and
WHEREAS, it is anticipated that a large number of people
will want to attend the aforesaid public meeting; and
WHEREAS, it is probable that there will not be sufficient
seating Capacity in the Council chamber to seat all of the people
who will a~ten.d the public meeting;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of
tlhe City of Bakers field, County of Kern, State of California, as
follows:
A special meeting to discuss the proposed freeway agree-
ment shall be held in the Police Auditorium at 1620 Truxtun Avenue,
Bakersfield, California on the 17th day of July, 1961, at the hour
of eight (8:00) o'clock P. M.

I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was duly
passed and adopted by the Council of the City of Bakersfield, at
a regular meeting thereof held on the 10th day of July, 1961, by
the fo 1 lowing vote:
