HomeMy WebLinkAboutRES NO 53-61RESOLUTION NO. 53-61 A RESOLUTION' OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAKERSFIELD FIXING A TIME AND PLACE FOR HEAR- ING PROTESTS BY PERSONS OWNING REAL PROPERTY WITHIN TERRITORY DESIGNATED AS "BEALE NO. 1," PROPOSED TO BE ANNEXED TO THE CITY OF BAKERSFIELD. WHEREAS, a.petition'was filed with the Council of the City of Bakers field on the 17th day of Ma~' 1961, requesting that certain uninhabited territory therein described be annexed to and incorporated within the City of Bakers field, and WHEREAS, Said petition was' signed by the owners of all of the territory-propOsed to be annexed. NOW, THEREFORE, in compliance. with the provisions of the Annexation of Uninhabited Territory Act of 1939, Chapter 297, as .amended, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Bakersfield, as lows: That the boundaries of the territory so proposed to be annexed to the City of Bakersfield are described'as follows:' A parcel of land situate in the County of Kern, State of California, and being a portion of Block 34 in DRURY'S ADDITION TO KERN, as per map filed April 27, 1893, in Book 1 of Maps at page '41, in the office of the County Recorder of said Kern County;, Beginning at the Northeast corner of Lotl2 in said Block·34; THENCE (1) S~. 16'~ 31' 08" W.~ along the southeasterly boundary of' said Lot 12, a distance of .75 feet, to intersect a line .parallel with and distant N. 16' 31' 08" E., 24~ feet from the northeasterly line of Jefferson Street (formerly Main Street) and as measured along the southeasterly boundary (and' the extensions thereof) of Lots 12 and 21' in said Block 34, said intersection also being a point on the current corporate boundary of the City of Bakers field; THENCE (2) N.' 73' 28' 37" W., .'along said parallel line on and along said corporate boundary of the City of ........... ~iBakersfield as.'.same=is .defined by ~ Ordinanc.e--No .- -7-65 ............ : ...... New Series, to intersect the westerly boundary of Section 21, Township 29 South', Range 28 East, M.D. M; THENCE (3) N. ,0' 08' 00" E., along said last named westerly boundary, on and along the corporate boundary of the City of Bakers field as same is defined by the CHARTER of the City of Bakersfield, to intersect the northeasterly boundary of said Block 34; THENCE (4) Southeasterly along said last named northeasterly boundary~ departing from the corporate. boundary of the City of Bakersfield, to the Northeast corner of said Lot 12, the point of beginning,, containing 0.151 acres of land, more or less. That a designation appropriately.naming such territory {s "BEALE NO. 1,"' '- BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that Monday, the 26th day of June, 1961, atthe hour 'of eight o'clock_P. M., in the Council-Chambers of the City Hall, 1501 Truxtun Avenue', Bakersfield, C'alifornia, is' the time when and the place where any person owning real property within such · territory so proposed to be annexed and having any objections to the' proposed annexation may appear before the Council of the City of Bakersfield and show cause why'such'territory should not be annexed. o0o ......
