A RESOLUTIONI AFFIRMING THE RECORD
BEFORE ~ THE CALIFORNIA ASSEMBLY
COMMITTEE ON WATER IN SUPPORT OF
A.B. 2455 · ._
WHEREAS, there has been introduced· into the State Legislature
a bill known as A.B. 2455.which bill is designed to create a County
Wide water agency in the County of Kern for the primary purpose of
acquiring water for1 Kern County, and~
'WHEREAS, the need for supplemental water in Kern County .is
Of the utmost 'i~portance to the economy and well being of the people
of Kern County a~d the City of Bakersfield, and
WHEREAS, the Assembly Water Committee of the State Legislature
has ~ndertaken hearingsi on said bill A.B. 2455, and
WHEREAS, on May 2, 1961 a committee hearing was held in
Sacramento and at ·said hearing the City Attorney of the City of
· Bakersfield on behalf of the City supported the passage of A.B. 2455,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of
Bakersfield that the record made at the hearing before the Assembly
Water Committee of the State Legislature of the State of California
by the City Attorney is hereby affirmed and augmented by this
resolution in support of A.B. 24~5, and that copies of said Reso-
lution No. 51-81 be forwarded to said Assembly Water Committee
and to the co-authors of A.B. 2455, Representatives John Williamson,
Jack Casey and Senator Walter Stiern.
I~BYCERTIFYthat the foregoing Resolution Was passed and
adopted by the 'Council of the City of Bakersfleld at a,regular meeting
thereof held on the 8th day of May, 1961, by the following vote:
