A RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ·
BAKERBFIELD FIXING A TIME AND PLACE FOR HEAR-
ING PROTESTS BY PERSONS OWNING REAL PROPERTY
WITHIN TERRITORY DESIGNATED AS "ASPHALTO NO.
2, N~ PROPOSED TO BE ANNEXED TO THE CITY OF
BAKERSFIELD, CALIFORNIA.
WHEREAS, a petition was filed with the Council of the City of
E~akersfield on the 17th day of April, 1961, requesting that certain
uninhabited territory therein described be annexed to and'incorporated
within the Cityl"of Bakersfield, and
WHEREAS, said petition was signed by the owners of all of the
territory~proposed to be annexed.
NOW, THEREFORE, in .compliance with the provisions of the
Annexation of Uninhabited Territory Act of 1939, Chapter 297, as
amended, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Bakersfield, as
follows:
That the boundaries of the territory so proposed to.be annexed
to the City of Bakersfield are described as follows:
A parcel of land situate in the County of Kern, State of California,
and being a portion of Lot 3, in Section 13, Township 30 South, Range
27 East, M. D. M., and as said Lot 3 is shown on the "Kern County Sales
Map No. 1 of Lands of J. B. Haggin," filed for record May 3, 1889,
i.n the office of the County Recorder of said Kern County:.
Beginning at the Southeast corner of said Lot 3, apoint on
thecurrent corporate boundary of the City of
Bakersfield;
THENCE (1) northerly along the easterly boundary of said
Lot 3~. on and along said corporate boundary of the

is defined by Ordinance No. 1322 New Series, tO
the Southwest corner.of the North half.(N'. 1/2),

of said Lot 3, departing from the corporate boundary
of the City of Bakersfield to. intersect the northerly
boundary line ofsaid. Lot 3, as said-northerly' boundary
line is shown on.said .~Kern County Sales..Map No. 1 of
Lands of J.B....Haggin~; ...
THENCE (3)'westerly along the last named northerly boundary
line, parallel with, distant 30. feet southerly~from.,'.·
and as measured perpendicular to~the northerly boundary'.'
of said Section 13, to intersect .the ·westerly boundary
of the East 300.00 feet of said Lot 3,. as per..that

That a designation appropriately .naming'-suCh' territory is
"ASPHALTO NO. 2."
BE IT ·FURTHER RESOLVED, that Monday, the 22nd.'day of May, 1961,
at the hour of eight o'clock P. M., in the Council Chambers o'f the
City Hall, 1501 Truxtun Avenue, Bakersfield~ California,. is the time
w]hen.and the place where any person owning real property within such
· territory so proposed to be annexed and _having a~ny objections 'to the
proposed annexation may appear before the·Council of the City of
Bakersfield and show cause why such territory should-not be annexed.

I HEREBY. CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was passed and
adopted by the Council of the City of Bakersfield at a regular meeting
t'hereof held on the 17th day of April, 1961, by 'the following'vote:
